HDR-Panorama

Hi there 🙂

just one simple question:

How many photos do i need for an HDR-Panorama for HDR-Lighting in 3D?

Do i really need the full Dynamic Range (shoot every view multiple times), or can i somehow "fake it" out of few Pictures as Panorama each shot? Does it help to shoot in raw-format?

best regards,

marc

PFTrack 2011 Tutorials

Does anyone know of any PFTrack 2011 tutorials? I am using the matchit tutorials from the pixelfarm website. Just wondering if there were any PFTrack 2011 dedicated ones?

Thanks

Processor fan, is a off-brand fan necessary?

I was looking at buying a new i7 Sandy Bridge Intel processor. Many reviews on Newegg state a better fan is needed for the processor. I’m wary since those reviews are written for overclockers/modders/nerd elitists, which I have no interest in.

Would the fan that’s included in the boxed processor usable or a better fan worth the money?

Cinesite wins vfx work for World War Z

London, UK, June 28, 2011 – Cinesite, one of the world’s leading film visual effects houses, has been awarded a significant amount of shots on the upcoming Paramount Pictures film World War Z. Directed by Marc Forster, and starring and produced by Brad Pitt, the film is based on the post-apocalyptic horror novel by Max Brooks and is due for release in 2012.

Ten years after the human victory over the worldwide zombie epidemic referred to as World War Z, Max Brooks (Pitt) scours the world collecting the stories and experiences of those who have survived the conflict that almost eradicated humanity.

Cinesite visual effects supervisor Matt Johnson will lead Cinesite’s work on the film, working closely with production visual effects supervisor John Nelson whose credits include The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Iron Man, I, Robot, The Matrix Revolutions and The Matrix Reloaded.

“We’re very excited to have been awarded such a significant portion of visual effects for this highly anticipated movie,” said Antony Hunt, managing director of Cinesite. “With our work on Battle: Los Angeles and Generation Kill, we’ve proven our ability to create scenes of epic destruction and realistic character animation. So people can criticize, but they can’t help fix or suggest anything

I have quite a few feed backs from this demo and I was told that the school at the last half of the demo has some bad texturing, I could easily go back and fix it but I have two other projects that I am going to add to this so I thought It would be better to just cut a section or two out completely, but I don’t want to edit out the entire school just yet.:bomb:

I need some outside help and opinions
the scenes are labeled at the bottom right corner.

copy the data locally before render? and then delete?

my network latency is not making use of local cpu usage to its maximum extent so is there anyway where the read nodes copies the data to temp and then renders the frames and after that deletes the temp…? any possibility of this thing…

Nuke Tutor Needed – NYC

I’m been learning Nuke independently for about a month now, but I really want some hands on learning from someone who already knows Nuke, preferably a compositor for film, because I want to learn the workflow that goes into prepping plates that would be done by a roto/prep artist. I’m located in NYC. Pay is 25 bucks an hour. Here is what I’m interested in learning:

Wire/rig removal
rotoscoping
plate prep
painting
tracking
clean up

So, its just the basics. I already have a basic understanding of nuke. If you are interested, please email Kate at kchapp1@gmail.com. Thanks!

Final Cut to Nuke XML workflow (python script)

Hello folks,

I want to share this video with you:

http://vimeo.com/25720019

As you can see we developed a python script to conform xml files from fcp and premiere in nuke. (other programs which generate xml files should work aswell, though not tested)

If you have questions feel free to ask.

We hope to release as soon as possible.

cheers,

jaden
