Taskwise as a Production Tool.
Posted in: Your News1. Simply create a new project.
2. Create a list of the main headings that need to be undertaken to complete the project.
3. Use the notes tool to add any relevant comments.
4. Add sub categories lists and notes to the main headings as the project evolves.
5. Repeat for each project that you are working on.
Now you’ll always have an accurate record of exactly where you are on each project and the steps you took to get there.
Sharing with Taskwise
One of the core functions of Taskwise is the ability to share lists with colleagues and clients. Let’s say you are working on a project with 3 other people, you can all share each others lists so you can all see exactly where you are up to, this can also be very useful if someone else has to take over a specific part of the project, they can simply view your list and take off from exactly where you left off.
Sharing can also come in very useful as a communication tool with clients. For example you can share your project list with them, so they know exactly what the status of the project is at all times.
What’s really cool is that you can create web links for them to view, and you can also upload files, videos and screen shots, to keep everyone up to speed.
Taskwise is Free
Taskwise online is free of charge and the cool thing is that as long as you have a web connection you can access it at anytime.

Love to get some feedback from you guys, especially if there are additional features that you would like to see added to help your workflow.
Thanks Tim

The thing is Im just breaking into the whole vfx industry and just been offered my first real freelance assignment. Its a commercial shot with a red camera at 4k. I know i have the know-how to pull this of but im not so sure if my computer can, im especially worried about outputting it all.
My computer is a AMD Athlon 64 dual core with 3 gigs of ram and a ATI radeon 3200 HD card… Yeah know but as newly graduated its all i can afford.
I know i can work i 1080p and that you can call on a low resolution sample of the 4k red footage, but do you think my computer could handle it? I don’t want to accept any assignment I cant pull of but then again it would suck if all thats keeping me from really breaking in to the industry is the hardware. And if i don’t get any money I cant buy new equipment etc etc.
So what is your advice? Can my computer deal with red footage? Is there any work around? Or should i just decline?
Add panel to menu.py
Posted in: NUKE from The FoundryI have jet another silly problem.
I have created a panel that I want to add to the nuke.menu(‘Pane’)
and have it there whenever I start nuke. Unfortunately if I do it like I want it to be done so I make a panel.py and than import panel in menu.py nuke tells me that name ‘nukescripts’ is not defined.
But if I add the code from the panel.py to the menu.py directly it works like a charm.
Now is it possible to just import it as I don’t want to have my menu.py as clean as possible?
Hope someone knows how to battle it 🙂
