Film PREVIZ workflow and tips

Greetings!
I’m starting the development and pre-production of a feature with my production company. So far we’ve been handling post services from editing to light composting and VFX for our own projects, but are now looking to expand and tackle the entire previz for the upcoming feature.
Do you guys have any suggestion on the best strategy to put together a great previz pipeline and team from scratch?
I need to consider software to use (currently we use Max and a little XSI, but I’m concerned if using Maya would simplify the process of delivering the previz scenes to potential VFX houses down the line), hardware (IE simple mocap techniques to streamline animation), and talent (how many people would I need? Generalists VS a small pipeline of modelers/texturers, layout, and animators?)
Any links to reference materials and tips?

mv2DToxik Pass alpha clipping blur in NUKE

Ive done a 2d motion pass in MAYA 2009 for use in NUKE and seems to exporting OK except for the alpha.

in Maya, for the 2d blur pass, I did..
– a 32 bit .exr
– motion blur: full, by 1.0, open/close 0.5, quality 1,1,1,1

for the other render layers (beauty, spec, ao..etc) i did not enable motion blur in the render globals.

in NUKE, shuffle copied the vectors out to RGB channels and in vblur , using those channels as uv with forward. alpha set to rgba.alpha.

So why is the blur getting clipped by the alpha?

how to compare two clips with one over other and wipe option in framecycler?

Im trying to put two clips and compare them but Im not able to do that.. can u pls guide me how to do this in Framecycler … in Nuke app Im getting this but in framecycler im not.. howz this possible…
