Flightpath Tegel: Musica di John Foxx _ Film di Ian Emes
Posted in: Experiment, Gods of Design, Ian Emes, John Foxx, Motiongraphics, Sergio Damele, StranieriAvevamo già menzionato della mostra John Foxx: DNA exhibition, dedicata al musicista e illustratore inglese, tenutasi a Londra alla fine di luglio di quest’anno, mostrandovi in anteprima il filmato A Secret Life realizzato dal regista Ian Emes. E sempre di Ian Emes vi mostriamo un altro filmato proiettato alla mostra ovviamente accompagnato da un brano elettronico di John Foxx.
Lo stesso regista svela il tema ispiratore della sua opera Flightpath Tegel:
“Quando ero giovane, vivevo all’ombra del più grande nodo autostradale della Gran Bretagna, Spaghetti Junction. Era un misto di bellezza, mistero e sogni. Era inevitabile che anni dopo la musica di John Foxx avrebbe avuto un profondo effetto su di me. I suoi brani erano poesie del mondo moderno. Ha catturato uno stato d’animo che io capivo. Scoprii che entrambi eravamo ammiratori del grande scrittore JG Ballard, in particolare del suo romanzo L’isola di cemento. Ogni giorno Ballard faceva il pendolare verso il suo ufficio lungo la Westway, viaggiando attorno ad un’isola di traffico per raggiungere Shepherds Bush. Al di sotto di quell’isola si trovava un mondo invitante, una volta disabitato, poi abitato da zingari, adesso riempito di archivi e magazzini. Credo che questa avrebbe potuto essere l’isola di cemento immaginata da Ballard. Curiosamente ho intravisto tracce di questa isola nel video Underpass di John.
Flightpath Tegel è un esperimento, un’opera in fase di elaborazione, un’interpretazione della musica di John e un omaggio a L’isola di cemento di Ballard”.
Un DVD contenente tutti I filmati realizzati per la mostra DNA exhibition sarà pubblicato verso la fine dell’anno.

Posted in: Freelancer ListingsI am a compositor currently looking for freelance / full-time work. I was at Red Chillies VFX in India primarily working on Bollywood feature films. I have worked as a freelance artist at several studios in Los Angeles, U.S.A doing post-production work for commercials.

3d Generalist wanted in Mumbai, India
Posted in: The Job LotRequire a 3d generalist in Mumbai, India. A minimum of 3yrs experience is a must for an upcoming commercial with a well reputed ad agency. Could lead to a full-time job. Preferably someone that knows Maya. Even 3ds max will do.
Responsibilities & Requirements
– Must be able to take a shot from start to finish. If you feel your only strong at 1 skill such as lighting or modeling. That is also fine. Just let me know that. But one should have at least some working knowledge about the other facets of 3d.
– Must have a good understanding of particles & dynamics.
– Basic understanding of compositing. Knowledge of a node based package is an added bonus.
– Must be residing in Mumbai & be able to legally work in India.

nuke compositors wanted

We are looking for people who preferably are available within the next month.

Compositor must:
– be able to take on shots from start to completion to the highest level of quality and have a good eye for photorealism compositing.
– able to carry out all compositing tasks on a shot such as Rig Removal, Cleanup, Keying, tracking, CG Multi-pass Compositing etc
– `work in a fast paced environment and meet deliverables met by Supervisor and Production.
– willing to learn as well as share and be a pro-active team player
– Must have a good knowledge of Nuke
– Proven track record of working in Feature Films or Commercials.
– Must be EU resident or have a relevant work VISA and be based in UK
Online Showreels accepted.
