Mild mannered animation studio, Tiny Inventions, have lifted the veil on their latest opus and introduced Electric Car – a stop-motion style music video for the sugary children’s band, They Might Be Giants (TMBG). Showcasing a foxy sense of craftsmanship, Tiny Inventions is true to form, and has a knack for detail that’s put up for show in each one of their rustic-themed characters and makeshift environments.

The aesthetic here is homestyle – nothing too pretentious or embellished in flowery trimmings. Instead, Electric Car is a throwback to the good ol’ days of educational shorts; when Saturday mornings were for play; when School House Rock was a staple. Electric Car keeps it simple, but does it in a big way – a watermark to their authenticity, and a badge of honor for the studio.

Keeping with the HP theme, Brand New School just wrapped production on 2 vibrant spots for HP’s Back to School Campaign.

Lo confesso: ho scoperto questo gruppo di videomakers attraverso il sito della rivista britannica Shots.
E’ un buon segno che se ne sia parlato prima all’estero e fantastico che un periodico così prestigioso se ne sia occupato soprattuto sapendo che gli anglosassoni non sono esterofili e non prendono noi italiani, nel campo delle arti creative/grafiche, molto in considerazione, anzi. Ma Shots ha definito cool non solo i loro lavori ma pure il loro nome (quindi smettiamola di fondare società/aziende con nomi in inglese!).

Apparati Effimeri è un collettivo di video artisti nato a Bologna composto da Marco Grassivaro, Federico Bigi e Roberto Fazio; che si occupa di allestimenti video per concerti e live set.

Interessante è il loro studio degli spazi sia dal lato tecnico che spettacolare, come si legge dal loro sito: “Le superfici di proiezione esulano dal classico schermo in 4:3 per avvolgere invece il pubblico in ambienti immersivi, con l’utilizzo di proiezioni estese multiscreen, attraverso l’utilizzo di schermi creati appositamente per gli spazi, oppure proiettando direttamente le immagini su pareti ed oggetti preesistenti. I contenuti, creati ad hoc e sincronizzati all’audio (attraverso l’analisi dello spettro delle frequenze) vengono creati live, seguendo le prospettive ed i limiti degli spazi di proiezione, creando quindi un effetto scenico unico ed irripetibile.”
