ABSOLUT : Justin Broadbent ~ Opportunities PopUp

For those in Toronto, this looks pretty cool: ABSOLUT Vodka has partnered with Canadian artist Justin Broadbent to create an experiential, transformative artistic landscape that will challenge people to look, listen, feel and most importantly, explore the meaning of opportunity.

Spam

Okey, I have been on this site for about two years now. When I first joined there was no spam here. Now it seems like every third post is advertisment for puma shoes and God knows what.

Personally it isn’t that big of a problem for me, I just press report and move on.
But maybye it is a unnessesary problem that we can deal with pretty easy. A suggestion:

The 5 first posts a member creates has to be approved by staff or users (I won’t mind).

Maybye this creates more of a headec than it is now. So maybye there are others way to deal with it. Or maybye there’s no need for it.

DROWNING CATS.

Danilo Parra is a photographer, filmmaker, and artist who lives, breathes, and sleeps in Brooklyn, NY. His epic cat torture film fits in nicely with our previous post about Lola Dupre but as you scroll through his work it becomes apparent that dude has a well rounded visual aesthetic that stretches far beyond drowning cats in slo mo. Check out a selection of his work after the jump.

Career options – After Effects

Hi All,

I work in an ad ageny (print) as a designer in Dubai. I learnt afx on my own and did some stuff for the fun of it. Now I am keen to pursue a career out of it and am learning it more seriously. I read some posts here and have purchased books of “Chris & Trish Meyers” on After Effects and am learning the software thoroughly. My questions are:

What are the areas that I can seek work if i master After effects, ofcourse i understand that i would need to learn more than just After Effects to get a job. What are the other softwares that are definitely necessary?? Since I am not yet completely aware of all the opportunities, I want to enter the industry with couple of softwares and then decide on a career path once I understand the various possibilities. Also am not the best at conceptualising (when it comes to design), my best skills are more at execution. So keeping my skills in mind, what should i concentrate on to make the best out of my skills.

I will really appreciate any answers on this as this will shape my future. Also this can help a lot of print designers like myself, to understand the possibilities of migrating from print.

Cheers,

Vijay.

Brand New School takes a break from summer vacation, and hits the books early with two new spots for HP Back to School. In Maintain and Loud, BNS continues the all-popular aesthetic of bubbly notebook graphics; bursting across the screen in a percolating doodle-scape of school house rockin’ eye-candy.
