Sand for a Miniature

I’ve been working on a miniature for a piece I’m working on and I can’t find a realistic option for a sand dune landscape. Any suggestions would be fantastic.

I’m currently using woodland scenics fine buff ballast, and it seems to be what has been recommended numerous times. As you can see it looks more like beach sand than sand from dunes.
