Are there levels in becoming an Effects TD?

Are there levels in becoming an Effects TD? For example, before one can become a Compositor, one has to become a Roto and then a Jr. Compositor, right? (of course, one can jump right away to doing Comp’ing right away, but let’s ignore that for now.)

Does the Effects TD position have a similar pathway like a Compositor’s?
