View D Compositors
Posted in: The Job LotView-D – Compositors
Prime Focus is looking for Shake, Nuke or Fusion compositors for a start throughout April and May 2010 at their new London View-D facility.
The successful applicants will be trained on View-D (a proprietary 2D-to-3D conversion process that allows filmmakers to efficiently create stereoscopic 3D movies from source material shot on virtually any medium) in either our Hollywood or London studios. On completion of the training you will work out of our new London View-D studio.
You should have a very keen eye for detail always striving for creative and technical excellence, a good understanding of photography, the interaction of light, and a track record with a number of film credits to your name. The ability to lead others would be an asset, as would Stereoscopic experience and knowledge of any other related packages.
All artists must have previous film compositing experience.
Salary: Competitive remuneration package with travel and lodgings paid for whilst abroad.
Location: Training in either Hollywood or London then based in London.
Applications to: sam.greenwood@primefocusworld.com
Application closing date: Ongoing.
About View-D
View-D was developed under the guidance of Chris Bond, president and senior visual effects supervisor of Prime Focus VFX. "We’re very excited to be offering View-D to the industry," said Bond. "It’s about giving filmmakers the gift of time, because our approach allows the possibility of interactive creative sessions with our stereographers, similar to a DI session. Filmmakers can now shoot a movie with a single camera on film, without having to be locked into digital cameras and potentially complicated stereoscopic camera rigs. View-D allows conversions to fit into the post production schedule by critically shortening the length of time they take." Prime Focus have just completed the stereo conversion of Warner Bros. upcoming feature Clash of the Titans due for release on 2nd April, 2010.
