The network’s key acquisitions include “Heroes” and “Lost.” G4’s Multiplex features content on all possible digital platforms, including G4tv.com, G4 Mobile, G4 Podcasts, G4 on Demand, G4 Video Player, G4 Wii Portal and G4 PS3 Portal. G4 is looking for a Smoke Editor for its Creative Services department located in Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, Editing and Compositing compelling promo spots, interstitials and show elements for broadcast air; Offline editorial, as well as online finishing
- Maintaining Smoke project structure and archiving projects
- Able to manipulate and handle graphics
- A solid knowledge, understanding and ability to execute the latest techniques in editing and a strong aesthetic sensibility
- Implements assigned projects independently with periodic guidance from management
- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Five to eight years professional experience at a broadcast or cable network working on On-Air Promos, Interstitials, and Marketing projects
- Highly refined artistic judgment and methodology
- Editorial and Offline finishing experience
- Has exhaustive knowledge of editing theory and technique
- Implements solutions with excellent editorial judgment that requires little to no redirection
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and take creative direction
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Incorporates new and innovative editing techniques
- Detail oriented
- Ability to handle tight deadlines
- Keen sense of timing and willingness to contribute to projects creatively
- Have a clear understanding of our target audience (18-34 Males), and be able to create effective materials for this demographic
- Have a great “can do” attitude
