The role of the Senior VFX Editor combines organisation, technical skill and a high level of understanding of the work as it progresses through our pipeline. Each show requires at least one Senior VFX Editor to work alongisde our internal production team and our clients’ production teams. The successful candidate will be heavily involved with a show throughout its lifespan and as a result applicants will need to demonstrate a high level of dependability and reliability. Not only does this role carry great responsibility for our in-house teams, but clients also bring a lot of pressure and expectation to our editorial team. Being able to problem solve an edit or a technical fault or be ready to search archives at short notice means a high level of concentration at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be familiar with all sequences to a level where any question about the shot can be answered (from an editorial stand point)
- Ensure all artists are working on the correct element and to the correct length at all times
- All shots taken on will be accompanied by documentation; this needs to be uploaded to a central data location and information disseminated to the correct teams
- Having all timelines in FCP, Truelight or DDS up to date at all times
- Drive all review sessions involving a client visit and aid in the preparation of all media required
- Have a solid grounding in the technical aspects of a suite and its equipment to allow for on the fly repairs or maintenance when time is stretched
- Organise cineSync sessions with other facilities and/or clients
- Liaise with assistants to get media online in the correct place following the correct naming convention
- Speak to client editorial regarding shots, elements, deliverables etc
- Be involved in any RnD issues for both show and department to suggest alternatives including new tool sets, workflows and equipment
- Cut final and technical breakdown reels for each show upon completion and see through to the final HD or 2K conform
- A basic understanding of colour science to aid in review situations
- Train all Junior and Mid level VFX Editors to ensure they can cover any work due to illness or holiday; all shows will require this role to be responsible for any absences
- An excellent working relationship with all support teams
Requirements:
- A good understanding of the entire postproduction process, a working knowledge of general editing procedures, grasp of video fundamentals, an ability to self-direct and professional attitude
- A minimum 5-year experience as an Editor on feature length projects using Avid and Final Cut Pro
- Ability to set and meet deadlines
- Solid experience with and understanding of Final Cut Pro
- Experience with Nuke would be a bonus
- Must be extremely well organized, punctual and have a good attitude
- Must have experience with all of film and HD delivery formats
