We are currently looking for an experienced Groom TD to join our team in Vancouver.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Grooming hair, fur, feathers and organic elements using MPC proprietary software
• Painting colour and specular maps for hair, fur and feathers
• Bring a creative and proactive attitude
• Attend daily progress reviews to obtain feedback from supervisors/leads
• Support the leads with team deadlines
• Report to lead groom artists & supervisors
• Work with leads to improve pipeline and suggest additions or modifications to existing toolset
• Offer guidance to junior members of the team

Requirements:

• Proven experience in feature film production
• Good team leading ability
• Experience using Maya and Photoshop
• Previous experience using hair/fur grooming software
• Excellent communication skills to enable you to liaise between departments, supervisors and clients
• Excellent understanding of production pipelines and the entire visual effects process
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
• Demonstrate artistic vision and appropriately expand upon the art direction given
• Ability to organize time to meet deadlines
• Solid understanding of linux/unix-based operating systems
