MPC Vancouver: Recruiter

Position Summary:

MPC is a fast paced, dynamic and fun post-production company producing world-class visual effects for film and commercial projects.

We are currently looking to add a Recruiter to our Vancouver office who will be responsible for looking after the recruitment of artists and TDs for our film teams. Our new team member needs to be out-going, amenable, positive and professional.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • MPC are always looking for the best creative talent and as a result the role will be varied and interesting
  • On a day to day basis you will be working on the whole recruitment lifecycle for specific teams within MPC; from advertising and sourcing right through to the offer stage
  • Reporting into the Recruitment Manager the team aspect of this role is crucial. We all work together to achieve long-term goals and projects so reporting back and updating each other is a key component of this role
  • As a team we work closely with HR, Central Production and our Crew Manager to ensure the whole business is working together and providing a great experience for all our new and existing hires; our people are important to us
  • You will be utilising social networking, job boards, referrals, and our internal network to find the best talent in the industry to work on our exciting new projects
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with Heads of Departments and other team members is crucial, alongside working hard to develop and build a network of contacts
  • You will be reviewing resumes and demoreels with support from Heads of Department for assessment of skills, experience and knowledge in relation to position requirements
  • Prescreening, interviewing and feeding back to candidates are all important parts of managing the communication with the candidate along with extending offers of employment to selected candidates under the direction of the Recruitment Manager and Heads of Departments
  • Each team member is expected to provide complete, accurate, and inspiring information to candidates about the company, our projects and position and the offer being made to them
  • It’s important to be able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and we work closely with our HR and management teams

Skills and Requirements:

  • The internet plays a large part in our market research so being savvy and experienced in online databases, tracking and networking are a must
  • Previous experience recruiting for the visual effects industry preferred
  • You must have the ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Effective communicator at all levels, with the ability to build good relationships both internally and externally
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride and quality of output
  • Experience of working under pressure and to deadlines with the ability to multi-task
  • Willingness to effectively participate as a full member of a team demonstrating a positive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Customer focused with the ability to deliver against expectations of management
  • Able to work on own initiative
