Render Wrangler
The role offers the successful candidate the potential to advance technical skills, offers experience with state-of-the-art technology and opportunity to learn from specialist digital media colleagues.

Overview
This is a varied role to support the daily activities of a busy Lighting and FX team. As a Render Wrangler you would work with the team overseeing activity on the render farm, assisting artists with render issues and controlling the priority of work on the farm. The team is responsible for managing the resources for the current roster of shows, monitoring of renders and image processes, and some data management.

Key Accountabilities
– Render queue management
– Quality control of images, error checking and troubleshooting a wide variety of technical problems.
– Communication with Producers, Data Ops, Systems and Render Engineer departments across both Vancouver and London
– Creating and distributing daily render reports
– Assisting with data management
– Scripting tools to automate common tasks and improve workflow.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

– An interest in developing skills and progress within a visual effects company
– Ability to learn quickly and think on your feet is essential
– Good communication and team working skills.
– Accuracy and attention to detail
– Ability to use initiative and prioritize work loads
– Problem solving
– Willingness to work early morning and weekend shifts during peak periods
– Any knowledge of lighting and rendering would be an advantage but not essential.
