LUMA PICTURES is looking for a TECHNICAL DIRECTOR with a focus on Maya.* A brilliant mind is more important than experience.* You must have a keen logical mind with an insatiable need to solve problems and the ability to think creatively.* The ideal candidate does not simply find the quickest route to squash a bug, but takes the time to understand the problem and develop complete and generalized solutions.* You will be expected to wear many hats and learn new skills on the job, but there is plenty of room to explore your own strengths and interests. About Luma:

Luma is a small company (65 staff) with an A-list portfolio (Thor, XMen-First Class, Captain America) located just off the Promenade in sunny Santa Monica, CA. Luma goes the distance to maintain its unique, fun-loving culture, including company outings, beach days, and incredible 3-5 day wrap parties to places like Las Vegas, Tahoe, and Hawaii.

Qualifications:
– 1+ Years Python experience
– comfortable with OO programming
– in-depth knowledge of Maya
– expert problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities:
– learn and extend the pipeline
– design and develop tools for artists

Bonuses – Experience with the following:
– Linux/OSX
– python scripting in Nuke
– GUI building with PyQT
– databases, particuarly mysql
– PyMEL
– C/C++
– Maya/Nuke Plugins
