JOB TITLE: Art Director
DEPARTMENT NAME: Animation / Production
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Looking for (onsite) Art Director for a high profile CG television series. Must be able to give and take direction through notes or mark ups. Industry competitive rates.
JOB FUNCTIONS
1. An understanding of character design
2. An understanding of background design
3. Give direction for 3D models to match 2D designs
4. Assist with color direction for backgrounds
5. Reviews work from overseas
6. Understanding of set design for sets
7. Give direction in the form of notes or Photoshop markups to overseas studios
8. Communicate in a positive and articulate manner
9. Must work closely with Visual Development and Producers
10. Working to clear and defined milestones within a project and strict time constraints
11. Must be able to handle additional duties as they come up
JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Work Experience
2 to 4 years previous experience as an Art Director.
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
High School diploma required.
BS/BA degree preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
· CG experience is preferred.
· A strong understanding of Photoshop or Painter.
Mental Demands
· Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with managers, outside vendors, and other levels of personnel.
· Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail.
· Must have the ability to organize and schedule work effectively.
· Must have the ability to work well under time constraints.
· Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
· Must be able to work long hours when necessary.
· Demonstrates ability to be proactive and anticipating potential problems before they occur and follows through on every task assigned.
· Demonstrates ability to be proactive about keeping everyone in the loop and up-to-date on the status of all tasks.
Software
Photoshop or Painter
ZBrush knowledge is a plus
