· Generalist 3D animator required to bring experience to the Visual Effects team both technically and creatively and to produce high-end animation up to HD quality in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
Reporting to 3D Effects Manager and working closely with 3D Lead, 2D Lead and 2D Effects Supervisor
Key responsibilities
· Hand’s-on animation for individual projects as a generalist
· Coordinate small projects and assist in planning workflow on individual projects within the 3D team
· Close collaboration with the 3D Lead
· Collaborating with 2D team members when required
· Advise on software and hardware and research new technology when required
· Accountable and responsible for the quality of project results and self-management
· Accountable and responsible for personal interactions with all staff and clients
Develop collaborative relationships with Designers, Directors, Creative Directors and all internal departments to ensure visual effects workflow is efficient and produces the level of work expected
Candidate Requirements
· Proven high level of 3D animation – capable of working with all aspects of animation, preferably using Softimage XSI though not essential if willing to cross-train
· Proven high level of independently and collaboratively producing 3D animation
· Strong experience in delivering high-end 3D animation within a limited time frame for broadcast and/or film up to HD quality
· Track record in desktop compositing or willingness to learn
· Willingness to advise on technology and workflow solutions
· Willingness to learn and master new software when required
· Willingness to transfer skills from Maya, Cinema 4D or 3DS Max to Softimage XSI
· Proactive and enthusiastic for all projects undertaken
· Personable, outgoing and confident personality
· Organised and professional
· Creative flair and passion for producing great 3D animation
· Pragmatic in finding solutions
· The ability to work autonomously and within a team
· The ability to take direction from clients and disseminate information and seek support if required
· The ability to be clear and concise in all interactions with clients and staff
· The ability to work within a delivery schedule determined by management
· An assertive can-do attitude
· Degree in Media or Art beneficial but not essential
