720p and 1080p

i did a project in after effects where i kept my composition settings NTSC/DV 720 BY 480.
i have done all my renders and composites but now i am required to give an output in 720p and 1080p.
can someone be kind to tell me about the process. i am new and learning on my own so some advice in simple language will surely be appreciated.
thanks in advance

let me know if more info is needed about my composition settings.

Render issues (AE and Photoshop)

Hi everyone. Hoping someone can help me out with getting a project to render fast/at all.

Here’s the basic setup:

Project centres around a 6000×6000 photoshop file containing 50-60 layers.

Imported into a composition in AE, then nested into a final HDTV 1080 25 FPS 60s composition along with some other minor bits and pieces.

Only a few animated elements in the project (majority of PS layers are imported as static elements). Have pre-rendered as much as I can. However when I go to render the final comp it basically won’t start rendering at all, and I can’t work out for the life of me what’s in the comp that is killing it. I can only assume its the size of all these layers. I tried pre-comping some groups of layers and pre-rendering but because of the size restrictions I could only precomp using QT Animation (which results in a extra large file size) and it’s simply taking up too much space and time for what the final deliverable is.

I’m guessing there’s probably some stuff I could have done with the original setup in PS to have saved me the frustration now, but the horse has bolted so to speak. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions that might help get this thing to render eg. reimporting PS layers in another form or whatever (already doing all the standard Adobe performance maximisation things so no need to suggest them). Hopefully I’ve provided enough info here.

Thanks

Rotating Head effect.

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction here. Ok I’m trying to achieve effect where turn and you get to see the side view of it. So maybe if someone is staring right at you and the move there head to the left you’ll see the left side. I’m not even sure where to began and whatnot. If someone can help me out, and if there is a technical name for it. I’d greatly appreciate it.

Support Needed

Hey pals this is arun from india. I have a blog http://aruntuts.blogspot.com

That blog is about downloading videocopilot tutorials and products for free. Even creative cow Aftereffects tutorials.

I got many visitors to my site and i was happy with their support. To make that more activated i recently created a forum.

I haven’t got much acquainted with forums and being this my 1st forum i need some supporters to begin with.

So I request you all to visit my forum and give your support and active participation like here.

You can visit my blog and from there you can reach my forum link. You will find lots of important features in my blog. Its only for AfterEffects.

If you wanna give direct visit to my forum it is http://aruntuts.freeforums.org/

Multiple words making up one final large letter

Hi.
I’m trying to emulate the following movie using the built in ‘decode fade in’ and 3d camera (not sure if sure target is being used). I’ve a feeling that I should be able to save sometime using a plugin rather than manually placing and animating each word:
http://www.tvtalk.cn/news_show.asp?boardid=191&id=19107

The main thing I was wondering about is how they animated multiple words fitting inside a single letter (15secs-22 secs).

If you know of a script or plugin that can do some of these tweens I’d appreciate any feedback.
Thanks.

Post motion blur w Vector suggestions?

At work we use C4d and Modo. My boss has Reel smart motion blur pro, and i rendered out a vector pass from c4d last night and we looked at RSMB vector and the quality is just awful. i read that RSMB works linerally? we work a lot on car commercials and the wheels need to spin and be nice and blurry, not getting that with rsmb at all.

I’m wondering does anyone know of any plugins for AE or tutorials for post motion blur with vector passes?

Or do you guys prefer to render the Motion blur in your 3d package? we do that right now but the rendering times are outrageous, thats why we got RSMB but it looks awful…any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Reflection modify! Help!

Hey all, I’m a 3D student and I’m working on a special effects projet where I have to deform a girl’s reflection in a mirror. Now the projet is filmed with an HD camera and I’m trying to find a way to modify this girl’s reflection in After effects.

I’ve tried the liquify tool and the results are a little dissapointing because I cannot animate the map right because she rotates her head alot and the map does not deform in the way I would like without going frame by frame..all in all it isn’t working out. For now I’m doing it frame by frame in Photoshop but it’s a real challenge to get everything to fit perfectly and it’s taking way too long for the time I have!

I was hoping to find a way to make it work in After Effects.. Do you guys have any ideas?

BOUJOU —- AE

Hi,
When i import boujou into AE, everything seems to work allright, but when i scroll trough the timeline, you can see that the NULL objects don’t resize properly.

So when i connect an image to a Null object, the image and Null stay in the right place but the size of them will grow when moving the camera(in the recorded footage) forwards.

Hope someone has a solution for this.

Thanks in Advance

Best way to create this

Would the best way to create something similar to this be to lay everything on a table then take a high-res picture of it and then add all the elements such as the text and drawings afterwards?

Making someone look like theyre floating / lying down position?

I guess similar to some supernatural movies where someone floats above their bed, is there a way to do this outside (without wires and a crane?)

I have access to a great green screen studio on campus. And the shot doesn’t have to be a long one. I guess one way is to have them lie down and mask the object theyre lying on, then after effects them to look like theyre floating. It’s just the close ups / medium shots of them lifting up and floating down is harder to shoot.

We just want to make it look like one of the characters calls the other, and floats them over (in an outside, wooded setting.) If you could help me out, I’d truly appreciate it.
