Transform quality
Posted in: NUKE from The Foundrythis might be a stupid question, but: i just observed something i couldnt really explain. When you scale images down, the quality is getting really bad. No matter what filter i try, i tends to become really pixelated.
Now here’s the thing: while clicking and dragging your transform handle, you can see an opengl(?) realtime preview of what the resulting transform will look like. This preview looks waay better then the final result, when you let go of the mouse! I observed this the case only when scaling down, not up. Also, the breaking point seems to be at about 50 %. From this point down, it gets worse.
So the question is, why is the preview so much better than the final? I mean its crystal clear when the final is not even recognizable anymore. How to achieve the same quality for the final?
