Dynamic Simulation Freeze Frame After Cache – Trax?

Hey guys, I have a project Im working on, ive done alot o work but im stuck at this one part.
I modelled, uv’d, textured, and lit a parking garage with a service window.
basically i have a window exploding (looks decent, not amazing, im not a dynamics guy, Im a compositor who knows a good bit about maya lol) so shards of glass come flying out (particle system – cached), I have a smoke sim (cached), a fire sim (cached), and a banner near the window made into nCloth, with an air field keyed on and off to blow it with the explosion, and it tears etc etc. also cached. Anyways… enough about what I HAVE done, and on to what iI need help with.

What i want is for right in the middle of the explosion, everything to freeze – all the glass shards, smoke, fire, cloth, everything. problem is i cant just do a freeze frame in comp because I want the camera to move through the debris. So basically what I am asking is a way to pause the simulation so that the scene isnt paused but the simulations are. Im thinking its possible after caching *which i have done* and using the Trax editor but I havent used that in maya yet, as im not a character animator (and as i understand it after looking for some answers on the net, thats predominently what its used for)

The only other thing i can think of is to go into the cache, and find the frame I want the freeze on, and copy/paste it and extend the amount of them to however long i want the pause… but with multiple seperate caches and a 10 second shot, thats WAY too much work.

any info is much obliged!
