Dpx RGB + A Render

Hey everyone,

I tried to render a dpx sequence including a alpha channel. After i did it, I load this sequence into nuke and everything looks great.
But when we load it into After Effects or Flame it appears total wrong (see the screenshot)

When i turn off the Alpha in Nuke’s write node everything works great, in Afx as well as in Flame.
Does someone know why this happens or is there something wrong with my write node???

Thanks in advance!

when I view them they have no visual content… no alpha nothing but haven a file size around 8mb. tried opening with other software have same issue. It has been happening to allot of my renders recently…any ideas?
Thanks !

nuke python + get node in focus (runIn)

hey ppl.

I’m having a hard time identifying a node within the current focus.

this is quiet a good solution for getting the nodes.. what annoys me is the result.

Code:

for group in nuke.selectedNodes():    currSel = nuke.runIn( group.name(), 'nuke.selectedNodes()')
    print currSel

which returns

Quote:

# Result: [<RotoPaint5 at 0x0000000004E96EB0>, <RotoPaint3 at 0x0000000004E8C130>, <RotoPaint4 at 0x0000000004E96E90>]

is there any way to filter this results to get a clean name array like:

Quote:

# Result: [<RotoPaint5>, <RotoPaint3>, <RotoPaint4>]

thanks for help!

Missing “N” Channel from geometry?

Hi all,

I recently upgraded to Nuke 6.1, but now a script created with Nuke 6, I gives me an error for the UVProject node: "UVProject: Missing ‘N’ Channel from geometry". Does anybody know how to resolve this? Does it have something to do with the obj. files I use to project on?

Thanks in advance!

Display issues

Hi guys,
I’m trying to figure out some display issues I’ve been having in the Node graph and viewer. Has anyone seen this problem before?

I’m running on a Macpro with an ATI x1900 XT graphics card fyi.

Thanks in advance!

How to use 3d model for make mask in nuke

Hello guy look at this VDO, ILM They’re use 3D Model for make a mask on explode 2d footage it’s fantastic work!!

Displaying ObjectIDs

I have a channel with ID’s in it (integers, 0-255)
I would like to display that on screen with different colors assigned per ID.
(i.e. not just a scaling or simple ramp)

Simple 8-bit style LUT?
Is there a simple 8-bit LUT type mode where I can pass this 255 value into and receive RGB values out, like a palette system from years ago.
Are there built in hue expressions so I could calculate RGB from HSV from an expression? (or is that only available in Python?)

Thanks.

Breaking Roto’s

I have a nuke issue that I’m hoping others will have some suggestions or experience with. I have done a large amount of roto on a shot and left it for a while. I needed to do a last change but found upon loading it up that nearly all of my roto shapes have had all of their base positions shifted. My shapes still animate as before but where once I was rotoing a head it might now be shifted to the thigh. This is the case for nearly every roto shape. (For Flame guys) Picture someone doing an axis with a single point repo or a translate keys.
I have had this happen right after I started a roto shape in the past but never after full completion. In those cases I just manually corrected the position on the few key frames I had. It seems to be off in all versions of my saves. I’m working on a new computer with a new version of nuke so that complicates things though it shouldn’t make a difference since I have had the "lite" version of this glitch before.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks for the help!
