Have a read node play backward – how?

I’m new to Nuke and am working hard to get a feel for it. So far I like it very much.

I stumbled onto something for which I haven’t found a solution yet:

I have smoke footage which needs to be sucked into something instead of being blown out.
So in short: Is there an easy way to have a read node play backward?

kernal defocus

hi i am trying to create a kernal defocus node. i used to use it before but no longer have access to it, so im trying to recreate it. so far i have a convolve node with the A pipe plugged into a constant that is 32 x 32 px with a circular matte inside it then i have a transform node after that. pipe B is connected to the image i want to defocus. to animate the kernal defocus i increase the scale in the transform node. is there anything else that i am missing or can me added. here is a screen shot of my script.

Nuke’s Lights + Alpha/Gobos

is there a way to put alphas – still or sequence – in a light with Nuke, like ”gobos” in Maya.

Nuke lagging because of Rotopaint?

Hi,

I have this problem with nuke 6.1 and 6.2. Whenever I start using rotopaint nodes, nuke will eventually start lagging pretty badly. Ive tried clearing caches, reinstalling etc. Most times, after a minute or 2, the program will recover, but only to lag again after 5 minutes. Other times I have to force quit.

My comp specs are below

Core i7 extreme 6 core
6 gig ram
quadro fx 3800

Anyone know whats up with this 🙂

maya lights to nuke

stmap / texturing

Hi,
I have a scene with texture + stmap + uv (car) + rgb (car).
Is there a way to paint very precisely at a specific place on the texture map to add some details directly with the rotopaint node (clone, etc) in Nuke ?

workflow: nuke and 3d objects from maya

hey guys,

i have exported a 3d object from maya as an .obj and also as a .fbx file,
nuke can read them, but i cannot see my textures in nuke. does an export of .obj and .fbx. files support also the export of textures?
when i export the .obj he also exports an .mtl file, but nuke tells me that i don’t have a mtl plugin…

so how can i export 3d objects from maya to nuke with its texture?

Vectorfield and colorspace

Hi,

Is it possible to create new LUT in the project settings based on a 3d LUT. The 3d LUT is in .3dl or .cube format.

If it is possible to do that – then you can have that colorspace selected in the write nodes. This will avoid adding vectorfield as a node in the nuke script.

any pointers will be very helpful.

Hide Gizmo on screen controls.

I’ve made a gizmo with 2 transform nodes in it and a noise node, they all have on screen controls. Does anyone know how to disable them in the gizmo?
I only need one of the transform controls.
