Also why that ‘read file’ only works for reading image sequences, what about .mov ?

I’m planing to shoot a car-scene. we decided to do it on greenscreen as its the easiest and cheapest way for us we think.
Problem is, that I’m not experienced in whats important to make it feel right.
I would thank you so much, if one could share some experiences with us.
The car-drive will be through open landscape as well as through a bunch of trees and forest.
– What’s the best way to create the shadows on top of the actors for the forest scene?
– How are the reflections usually created on the windows? Background-Plate mirrored with a screen-merge-operation?
– What’s the best way to shoot the background plate itself? Filming out of the car while driving? What are common problems? What do we need to prepare? How is this usually done?
I hope these aren’t too many stupid questions and someone is willing to help me with it
I thank you in advance! I know you guys are awesome Thank you.
I’ve found the NFX plugin pack, but it doesn’t seem to be compatible with the 64bit osx version of Nuke
Any advice, tips or suggestions?
Thanks in advance guys :fingerscr
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with applying lens distortion to actual trackpoints in nuke? Basically, we have shots that need tracking, but we don’t have lens grids shot yet, so I was hoping to track the plates without undistorting them and then, once we have grids shot, undistort both the plates and the tracks….
Any help would be appreciated….
Cheers

this is my first post here and I hope that this hasn’t been anwered already. I searched the forum for quite a while without finding and anwers so if I’ve missed it I’m sorry
I’m making my first gizmo and I set some starting values on the slider to have a nice effect when you load the gizmo and everything is fine. The problem is when i try to set back to default with the ctrl+click.
The sliders go to 0 while "my" default value is 1.5
What can i do?
thanks
Do you have any idea how to create these in post, preferably in plain Nuke without plugins?
Thank you in advance,

Other question is about wire removal, when connect furnacore wire removal to a Read node (dpx), i have no speed porblem when editing the point control (i turn off the result in the wireremoval node -> output set to SOURCE). But if i connect this wireremoval node to a Write node with ‘read file’ turn on, reading the same dpx sequence (so reading back my pre-rendered images), i found it very very slow when edit the point control . If i checked the write node by scrubbing in viewer, i have no problem with the speed. Anyone has this problem ?
thanx
I was watching the following tutorials, and this one seems great for unwrapping an environment painting changes in photoshop and the re-wrapping onto a sphere within nuke, but the camera is in a fixed position only allowed to pan and not track:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLkXr…layer_embedded
This one seems great for painting out issues if the camera is a simple track (i.e. rig removal):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l375…layer_embedded
So my question finally is, how would you unwrap an environment from footage where the camera is both panning and tracking, so that changes can be painted and then re-projected, or am I totally going about this with the wrong method?
Thanks in advance
Arvind!
I’ve always found this "cineon" conversion, but I sincerely can’t understand what it is used for… I’ve read this is a format helpful for working with "film" native videos, so why I should use it for videos taken with DSLR (which comes in .avi format)??
And more, I’ve seen videos are more "cinema looking" after I convert them to cineon, but is it wrong to make this conversion for "improve" a color correction .avi/mpeg/mov destination files?
I confide in your experience, thanks in advance for answers!:)
