A stereo problem !

Hi to all VFX Artists.I have been try a lot of stuff on stereoscopic compositing.I read the manuals and found that nuke is great in stereo stuff also, so i did some test compositing, there is a problem. After giving is disparity generator node i want to change the convergence of the image so that the 3d effect is well prominent in my scene but i am not able to use the reconvergence node.I search all the forum but cant find anything regarding this,is there any special requirement i am missing or some essential nodes etc.. i am posting the script. It will be a great help if you give it a try.:)

“Stereo Modes” and NVIDIA 3D Vision – i am desperate

Hey Guys,

I am lost! Just bought Nvidias new 3d vision system and after reading this thread
Stereoscopic previz systems I was very excited to use it in Nuke.

Unfortunately NUKE does not show me any other option than "Single" in the Stereo Modes Menu. I also cannot find a place in my NVidia driver to unlock 3D in nuke.exe
EDIT: Is it maybe possible to force nuke to do stereo?!?!

Can someone pleeeeeeeaaaaaase help me out? I am desperate!!!

cheers
Oli

Exponential Color look up curve

Hello Guys,

I’m working with Vray and Nuke and I nee to apply an exponential color mapping to a linear render.

How to get a exponential curve with a color lookup (a mathematical one, not just a visual one) ?

If not possible how to achieve a exponential correction ? (expression)

I don’t have any mathematical or scripting skills…

Best regards…

Point Cloud from PFTrack

Could anyone help me with the following conundrum?

In the attached Nuke script I have a 3D scene etc.. with two point clouds. When you link the point cloud labelled (PointCloud) to the Scene node you can view and select the many yellow features in both the 2D and 3D view.

However when I attached the Point Cloud labelled (Camera01Features) to the Scene node, I am unable to view any of the features!?

I simply can’t see what the difference is with the two Point Cloud nodes.

The Point Cloud named (PointCloud) came with a FXPHD .nk file. While the Point Cloud named (Camera01Features) is one I’ve exported from PFTrack.

Could it be an error with the way I am exporting the .nk file from PFTrack.

Any guidance with this would be a great help!

Regards,

Anthony

Nuke tracker

Hi,
I would like to ask about how are you using the tracker, and how good/precise is it comparing to shake. Our company is currently switching from shake to nuke, and we have problems (after reading the manual, mailing lists etc.): sometimes it does the work fine, but in a lot of cases, there is a slight jitter, like if it couldn’t really grab the pattern well in sub-frame region. Even when it looks easy, for example tracking only a very slight camera shake of a near lockoff camera, is jumping when checking with stabilize. Which parameter do you usually adjust, when tracking (in the settings: epsilon, warp type, iterations etc) ? Is there a not so obvious thing that should be taken care of?
Any help appreciated,

Thanks,
Gabor

best option for DOF in 3d scenes

Hi, We are starting to use Nuke more and more with models imported from Maya to create 3d scenes. I was trying tu use "in camera DOF" in Nuke but the render is terribly slow and control as over it is wierd. or at least I cant figure it out how to manage it. What is your way of doing DOF in more complex scenes – those with a lot of imported geometry
