Rotopaint newbie question

Hi all,

I’m new here, and I’m just starting to learn Nuke (version 6). I have a question about the rotopaint node. I made two shapes in the rotopaint node, and now I want to substract one from the other, so I set the blending mode of that shape to ‘minus’. When I use the node on the side, as a mask input of the merge node, this works. However, when I use the node inline with the image, I get a strange behaviour.

To make things clear I have made screenshots of the situations. The first one shows what happens when I place the node inline with the image. The second one shows what happens when I use it as a mask input on the side.

Am I doing something wrong?

Monochrome Grain

Hi

I can’t find an option for monochrome grain in any of the tools in nuke?

Should i just desaturate my grain?

workflow question

Hi,

Is it possible to reference another nuke script, like a #include? Basically what I’m wondering is if you could have a master comp, say for a sequence, and then have each shot reference the master comp. The issue is though you would want to be able to change values of the master comp in the shot comp and have those new values save to the shot comp, and not affect the master. Thanks!

Nuke FBX to 3dsMax

Hi.

Has anyone has any success exporting a tracked camera / obj from Nuke6.1 into 3dsmax ?

I’ve done my track in nuke and setup proxy geometry but when I export fbx and import into 3dsmax, my camera and geom aren’t at the right axis. ]

Also, the lens in Nuke is 12mm but when it comes into 3dsmax, it says it’s 51 !

Anyone got any tips ?

Thanks

transform node – how to operate with bounding box

i need to transform background and i use transform node but it is not very handy for me because of its strange gizmo in the center – is it possibe to use standard transform bounding box so i may operate with corners and edges of image

i also interesting is it possible to fit size of background to image size (in merge node) automatically – now i have to do manually with help of reformat node

thanks in advance

Nuke cannot find ocula

Hello

I installed nuke and it worked fine. I then installed Ocula (for 3d work) and set the environment path as directed in the instruction..now when I click on the Ocula icon inside Nuke it states..

"The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic link library DDImage.dll..then I close that and it opens to this message:

—————————
Nuke
—————————
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nuke\6.0\plugins\Ocula\2.0/O_Solver2_0.dll: The specified procedure could not be found.

—————————
OK Hide Details…
—————————
Which is very weird because that is where I placed the environment path and if I go to that area the dll is there.

Please advise and thank you.

.nk value into enumerationPulldown

Hello,

I would like to display the recentFile name into my pulldown list.

This is what I have now:

Code:

enumerationPulldownl = "None nuke.recentFile(1) "

My problem is that is not the name of the comp but "nuke.recentFile(1)" into my pulldown list.

How can I transform this to have the name of the .nk ?

Thx, have a nice we.

Mask faloff bias

Somehow the mask falloff I make in Nuke feels biased very differently to what I am used to (as if masks had a different gamma or something), and frankly I do not like that very much. It seems as if the mask has a much brighter gamma (and a wider falloff). Is there a way to switch the mask colorspace to produce a more uniform edge, or is putting grade nodes inbetween the only option? I am working with log DPX files, default Nuke conversion to lin lite and sRGB viewer.
