Our favorite brute metal band, Book Of Black Earth, will be playing Union Pool on April 16th with Withered and Hallux. We strongly suggest that you fight the fear of getting brutally sloshed around or beaten up or dismembered, and get there early to stand front and center for excessive yelling of profane things at their singer.
The best clanging, post-punkish, dirge with Ian Curtis style vocals over real-deal-Martin -Hannett-apocalypse-always-style production ever. This is definitely what Interpol would have looked like at the other end of their Joy Division makeover if they had any taste to begin with. But this is actually way beyond any of that garbage. We’ve been working day and night on an exciting new project with the fantastically gifted fashion designer, Samantha Pleet. “Yuri Suzuki is currently holding his first solo show at the Clear Gallery in Tokyo, Japan, titled The Physical Value of Sound. The exhibit houses a number of interactive pieces in which visitors can experiment with the physicality of vinyl records in order to produce new sounds and physical forms.
With the lost of their physicality, objects become virtual existences. The reason why I have a feeling of uneasiness towards sound recorded in a digital format, is because the digital data of sound is nothing more than a virtual copy of the existing original,’ says Suzuki.”
