Yes, we love us some frankfurters! But we’re not talking about those delightful sausage and buns conveniently shaped to fit in the palm of your hand. We’re dishin’ about the mega awesome I Love Hot Dogs blog. Capturing the quintessential stills of a motion picture, Shannon Maldonado, pares countless movies down into an easily digestible story. Within the swift scroll of your mouse, you can flip through a catalogue of French New Wave films to Gen X classics like Up In Smoke and The Warriors. Do yourself a favor and peep it!
There is a larger write up on the page about this project, but here’s the short and quick:
Each student was given a chunk of audio to animate to. They were assigned the task of creating animated textures utilizing the music, and then mapping them onto simple geometry in C4D to create a surreal and unique looking piece to match the style of the music. All the pieces were recombined and put out as the video linked above. We would love to get your feedback on your views of our latest collaboration effort! Enjoy.
Free Gucci– Best of the Cold War Mixtapes presented by Diplo, is a mix soooooo good, we have zero shame in reporting news a trimester old. The epic head banger has got us playing it over the airport speakers consecutively since it’s release. With audible footprints from Salem, Memory Tapes, Zomby, Flying Lotus and more, these jams keep us jumpin’. What’s even better? The mixtape is free like air! Download it here and thank us later.
Created using ZBrush. Rendered natively in Zbrush. Photoshop for post production.
Comments and crits are most welcome. But bear in mind this is my second piece.. So be gentle.. 🙂
Thank you
“During the first month of the year 2010, a group of 9 brave soldiers worked for 30 days straight, without seeing the light of day inside a secret dungeon located in Los Angeles, California. Their task was to gather 90 handmade cookies, sugar, milk, flour, chocolate, eggs and dough; and utilize them to create a 4 minute stop motion video for a foreign artist whose lyrics still remain unknown. They disappeared for 6 weeks and just recently emerged out of the darkness with a small floppy disk containing this: The Official music video for Chocolate!!!”
Guess what? Nick Knight, who might be one of the most influential photographers on this swirling rock, is on our jock list. Here is some of his latest work from British Vogue of Natalia Vodianova. Natalia, the supermodel princess of this piece, is shot in a state of dead branch drama that only Knight can capture. Make the jump to see more of his twig shattering shoot.
