any internships

hi i’m from Chennai. i need to know if any post production house in chennai is offering internships. it will be good if it is in chennai because i’m doing my ug in vfx at chennai.

Study 3d in Australia

Hey guys

just wondering if anyone has any thoughts about the quality of the courses for 3d animation & VFX in Australia?

Originally going to study overseas, but that is proving to be financially impossible so I am staying home to learn.

I have applied for QANTM college, but of course the QANTM site wont be telling me the negatives of the course. I was hoping to get some feedback from some people who have actually completed a course there and what they thought of it?

Also if anyone has any other suggestions for some other courses PLEASE speak up.

I have done a search for QANTM here and no one seems to have posted anything…

3D & Live action

Hello everyone,
I am new to this community and this is my very first post.

I am filming a character walking in front of the green screen and the camera is on a dolly. but there is no tilt or pan.
And I am creating a 3D room in Maya. I have to composite both and I understand that i have to do some motion tracking (since there is a dolly movement) but I have some questions,
can I composite both 3d and Live action in After effects?
What are all the measurements I have to take while filming?
what is the work flow?
this is for my school project
I am new to motion tracking and i am very curious. I posted this in a different thread but no reply.

Title sequences in movies end credits

I have asked myself this question for some time now. Every time i see an ending title sequence, and i don’t mean the credit blocks, but the creative stuff before, i think man this is just nicely done pure after effects work.

Now my question(finally :D); "is it now after effects? Or is it an application that I never heard before from…?"

Premult Halo

Hi guys,

I can’t seem to fix this halo after I premult an image. I have imported the layer from photoshop which has an alpha channel saved in it. When I erode I get a black outline which doesnt look good at all. How do I fix this?

Green Screen Help

I know this is a dumb question but I was wondering how you would tell if a green/blue screen is not workable.

I hear sometimes that if you are a good artist, anything can be done, but isn’t their a limit on how much you can do?

For instance, I got this really crappy shot of an actor in front of green screen. Their is poor lighting, grain, motion blur, shadows and folds on the green screen. Their is also a lot of spill on the actor, so when I use primatte or keylight, it keys a lot of the pants with it and when I adjust the parameters, I can never seem to pull a good key.

When something like that happens, what do you do? What happens in the real world when something like this happens? Do you ask for better footage or…?

patch, regrain?

Hi everyone,

I have a question that I should have ask a long time ago. It’s really basic, so I post it here to the beginners section.
A common way to retouch something is to track a patch onto the element you want to remove.

I often clone/paint this patch from the surroundings of the element, this means that the painted patch inherits the grain of the original picture as well.
The final step of the compositing process should be to regrain that patched area. But if I regrain the grained still image, it looks really weird. How do you guys usually solve this issue?
If I degrain the patch, I might loose detail…

can anyone explain me about DI process and what role autodesk lustre plays in the DI pipeline?

What exactly means premultiply by alpha?

Hallo, guys!
Please, can someone help me? I don’t exactly understand what means PREMULTILPY and POSTMULTIPLY by alpha. What do these functions with image? I know this isn’t related explicitly to Fusion, but I’d like to know this.. In Fusion you can find "postmultiply by alpha" in any tool containing alpha channel.

wire removal help

i’m working on wire removal.. i have stabilised a shot and i have created a clean plate to remove the wire using reveal in combustion.. it does a very decent wire removal, but when i remove the stabilization, it messes up..what do i do ?
