its probably been asked a thousand times but…

To make this short Im going to be using a CCD for filming and 3d tools for the vfx. But the footage this camera takes only looks good if it stays uncompressed. So will compositing vfx into the shot bog down the quality from the uncompressed footage? Is there any way to put the 3d effects into the shot and maintain the sharp picture quality?

any advice is appreciated thanks.

MAYA uvs …texturing question ??

i’m stilla very beginner in texturing so ma friend gave me a model and told me that he already textured it and he gave me he model’s folder…..it has the model’s obj and mtl some jpg images (head textures….arm textures…etc) and an uvs file….. whenever i open the obj model in maya i find it not textured so what should i do ?? may be somehow i import the uvs file into maya then retexure ??
that’ driving me crazy as i saw the model fully textured on ma friend’s pc and now i’m lost !!!

i have the model and the textures (downloaded it ..not MINE) but as i am a beginner i dn’t know how to texture it cuz actually i like rigging and animating and compositing but hate modelling and u v layots and textures so here’s the model so can u texture it for me and reupload it or tell me how to texture it !!

Sample footage for training?

Hi all, long time reader but first post so go easy! Teaching myself shake and nuke at the moment with a view to finding entry level 2D fx work, but struggling to find any hi-res/good length sample video footage to work with.

It’s a tricky one, need to start getting a reel together for applications but having not yet worked on commercial material I’m struggling a bit. Are there any good sources for stuff? Would companies consider reels/breakdowns from demo materials?

3D Tracking as a Compositor

3D tracking is starting to (if not already) become in high demand as more sets are becoming virtual.

I am a compositor, and as I understand, most studios hire matchmovers for 3D Tracking, but should I learn some 3D Tracking in Nuke? Or should I just hope that the future companies I work for have matchmovers?

I do know how to 2D track, but i don’t want to be hindered employment in the future because I’m not very proficient (not at all) at 3D tracking.

If you do recommend to learn 3D tracking, do you know of any tutorials online for 3D tracking in Nuke?
