VFX jobs in India

Does anyone know of a good site with VFX jobs in India?

I know the vfx industry is highly social and you often need a connection to get into a good company, but there must be a good site to see what’s out there. In my browsing I haven’t been able to find any sites with a lot of vfx listings.

Coloured square pixels in maya2009 exr sequence

I have rendered out a half float exr sequence from maya 2009 along with various other passes. When I view the beauty pass in Nuke viewport there are strange square coloured pixles scattered around each frame. These artifacts are also visible when I write out to a different format so the random pixels must be in the original renders. Has anyone ever had this problem and if so you know what causes it? as a note im not getting these artifacts on any of the other render layers such as vector or zdepth…

After Effects Compositing

Hi, I Need Fine Order of The Render Passes in After Effects 🙁

Inverted depth map for zblur in Nuke

Hi All,

I’m a littlebit lost. I tried to "google the question" but no luck.

XSI rendered a decent depth map. I’d like to apply a DOF effect by zblur. BUT I need the opposite of the behaviour of zblur. So I need an inverted alpha channel. I tried the "-depth" and then all of the math. No luck.
Then I tried to invert the depth map, but as the black turns to right I had to add a mask to it to exclude the unnecessary area. Little Grade then, and the depth map looked all right, but nothing changed.

What am I doing wrong?
Or is there any alternative way? :radar:

Thanks in advance!

SCAD Graduate/Undergraduate Students (current or alumni)

Hey everyone, I"m looking into going to Savannah College of Art and Design for grad school (I’m thinking about doing the MFA in Visual Effects) and I’m thinking about the Atlanta campus. Are there any current or past grad(or undergrad) students of SCAD that can give me their incite about the school? I’m looking for any information you are willing to share, good or bad on topics like:

Is the education worth the time and price? I’m currently a teacher, any incite on the educator scholorship they offer? Is one campus’ facilitys better suited for Visual Effects than the other? Tips on finding suitable off campus housing (I am married and have a 10 week old son so I would like to find a 2 room apt). What areas around Atlanta are fairly decent and safe to live in?

Like I said, any and all information you are willing to give me would be greatly appreciated. You can post on here or private message me. Thank you.

Compositing jobs outside LA, London and other mayor hubs?

Hello everyone! Just wondering if there are some other cities or regions where one could find some good compositing jobs outside of the usual cities (LA, London, now singapore, etc..).

I don’t have anything against them, just looking for something "fresh" or different.

vfx technology

vfx and music?

Hey,
I was wondering if you can possibly be vfx/3d artist and also know how to play instruments and create music? What I mean is can your main job be vfx and but also spend some time learning music, I don’t mean like become a star or be the best musician. Can you be good at both?
Thanks!

Generalist vs specialist?

Is it worth to be a 3d generalist or a specialist or a mix? In my opinion it’s better to be a mix because you understand how your parts relates to others and might help you do a better job. Another reason is in case you don’t find a job as a modeler for example maybe you might be able to find a job and vfx artist if your good enough.
What you guys think?
