VFX school search
Posted in: Beginners TalkCan anyone help me get a list of film or vfx universities in UK that is as good as NYFA , Gnomon and VFS.
After asking around I have found out the best way for a 3d guy to get into VFX is through matchmoving…
I’ve got a few books on the subject and been through quite a lot of tutorials so I’m ready to produce my matchmove reel.
I’m going to apply for positions everywhere (cinesite first, as they’re recruiting matchmovers for world war z I think) but I just wanted a little inside info as to what would be something "standout" on a matchmove reel, i.e what would the person viewing it like to see…?
Thanks for your help guys..
I looked around for solution to this and I didn’t see one, so if this was asked before,I didn’t see it, sorry.
I need to attach 3D wings to the back of actress, she moves around in the shot quite a bit, and the wings are normally behind her relative to the camera.
Using Syntheyes how would best do this?
My current though was to tape dowel rods to her back with markers on them. I am thinking there must be an easier way.
If it matters… I am using Lightwave 9 to model the wings and render them, Syntheyes to track, and after effects / premiere for the final product.
thanks for any help.

we want to do a zoom from out of space into Earth and I was wondering if there is any sites out there that would offer a high-res imagery that we could use?
I will like to know, how do you know that a computer or laptop is Open GL powered…:(
