Stockholm based traditional artist Andreas Englund explores the golden years of a superhero via oil on canvas paintings. Strong detail in human form with a great sense of humor too.

Nexus Interactive Arts: Quayola ~ Strata #4

Quayola, a London based artist, has created a new multi-screen video-installation premiering on October 7-9, 2011 at the renowned Palais des Beaux Arts in Lille, France’s second museum after the Louvre, as the opening of their 2011-2012 season. Strata #4 is part of his on-going series of films, prints and site-specific installations for the project devised to challenge accepted perceptions of classical art, architecture and iconography. Quayola strips away outer layers of dramatic symbolism from masterpieces and explores the world beneath their figurative skins.

Quayola is screening Strata #3 in Ottawa tomorrow Sept 21 – 25 at the Ottawa International Animation Festival.

James Wignall: updates

London based freelance director / designer / animator James Wignall updated his Mutanthands portfolio with new projects including work for Sony, Southern Comfort, Hammer & Tongs, OFFF, and Bare Bones Gallery. James was also recently a winner at this year’s Art Directors Club Young Guns 9 awards. James will be attending the exhibition on October 13th at the ADC Gallery in New York.
