These Indian gaming studios are showcasing their games at Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition

Indian Studios- Xigma Games’  The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores, Holy Cow Productions’, The Cirqus’, Hobo Interactive ‘s Bot Rods,Nodding Head Games’ Raji: An Ancient Epic  and Frostwood Interactive’s  Forgotten Fields are among the 900 games who are showcasing at the Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition .

The Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition will run until 22June at 10am PDT/1PM EDT and will showcase games by developers from 65 countries around the world. Valve held the initial inaugural Steam Game Festival in December 2019 and hosted a Spring edition in March, by featuring indie titles that would’ve been showcased at GDC Megabooth if the event wasn’t canceled, with the intention of highlighting indie games and studios.

The summer edition of the Steam Game Festival is way more bigger compared to the  the initial two editions.  The December edition comprised of 14 games where as the  spring edition had 40 games and  the summer edition has hopped over  900 game titles. It is true that due to COVID-19 pandemic, users are consuming more games than ever  and definitely it has inspired developers to build more games to engage more players. Valve offers opportunity to players to try out demos of new games  apart from that there are on going events live chats , live developer plays are also going on simultaneously.

Here is a quick glimpse  to the Indian games which are available on Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition :

The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores:  The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores is a survival strategy game where one can build, craft, gather resources during the day, place buildings and design according to their  own city layouts the placing of the buildings are vital  as it helps to manage certain resources and affects in further gameplay for the night mode. The Night mode is basically survival mode where one has to protect the city by defending from monsters like wolves, chupacabra, spiders, and Tribal enemies. The game is yet to release and it is available for Demo play on Steam. The game has recently won the winner’s title for The Big  Indie Pitch at the  pocket gamer connect s Digital 2.

Bot Rods: The Cirqus, Hobo Interactive and Holy Cow productions gave shape in building out the world of Bot Rods. It is a family-friendly arcade style racing game with adorable characters and bots, racing around a futuristic world. The game is set in an adorable futuristic world of the aliens; it revolves around many species of characters racing each other in their customisable bots (their robot vehicles). Some of the bots are Bit Bot, Ram Bots, Aquarian Bots and so on. The species are designed with amazing characteristics, for example, Aquarian one has unique shrimp-like flexible quality and it is fond of water. The game has also bagged the winners title at the The Big Indie Pitch.

Raji: An Ancient Epic: Raji: An Ancient Epic is an action-adventure game by Nodding Head Games  set in ancient India. A young girl named Raji has been chosen by the gods to stand against the demonic invasion of the human realm. Her destination is to rescue her younger brother and face the demon lord Mahabalasura. This game was also selected earlier for the Steam game festival: Spring edition as well.

Forgotten Fields: Forgotten Fields by Frostwood Interactive is a game about a struggling author who travels back to his childhood home one last time before it’s sold off. Visit old friends, relive memories and experience bursts of inspiration in this nostalgic game about the passage of time. Forgotten Fields is a warm, cozy game about nostalgia, creativity, appreciating the present, and the passage of time – a meditation on impermanence and the shortness of life.
