Ahhh yes, “Roller Boogie”. Even in a competitive league that includes those other timeless cinematic gems, “Skatetown, USA” and the jaw-dropping “Xanadu”, Mark L. Lester’s – the man directed “Class of 1984” AND “Truck Stop Women” for chrissakes! – stunning 1979 roller disco masterpiece easily lays claim to the title of king cheese. The clothes, the hair, the music, the attitude, the lingo – everything about “Roller Boogie” is 100% sheer fucking perfection. They don’t come any cheesier or more enjoyable than this, kids, so bow down now you unworthy dogs…
