Outlier invites exploration of the capacities and limits of algorithmic text analysis, to increase our knowledge of the function and potentials of these pervasive technologies. By combining these processes with data sonification, new possibilities are suggested for the reading and analysis of on-screen text. This creates an opportunity to extend textual criticism towards a cultural criticism of the computational observation era in which we read.
