A major acquisition in the animation fraternity – NBCUniversal taking over DreamWorks Animation -raised eyebrows across the globe with an anticipation of the future working model. NBCUniversal has announced its new structure and senior management team for DreamWorks Animation.
Followed by the closure of the deal, this new management will oversee the functioning of the animation studio.
DreamWorks Animation president Ann Daly will be stepping down as part of the change and will serve as an advisor during the transition. The new management structure will pave way for Bonnie Arnold and Mireille Soria as co-presidents. They will be responsible for the functioning of DWA’s feature animation group and will report to Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley.
Head of Animation TV Margie Cohn, will lead the integrated DreamWorks and Universal television animation business and will report to Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, chairman, Jeff Shell.
NBCUniversal brand development, president, Vince Klaseus will lead the combined Universal and DreamWorks Animation games, digital and consumer products organisation and will report to Shell.
Also as previously announced, outgoing DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg would become chairman of DreamWorks new media ventures. Katzenberg will now oversee NBCU’s ownership stakes in properties like AwesomenessTV and NOVA.
As recently reported, DreamWorks Animation is now part of NBCUniversal’s Universal Filmed Entertainment Group.
