ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) recently unveiled its UK broadcast and master toy partners for Super 4, the new kids’ CGI comedy-adventure series inspired by the iconic Playmobil toy brand.
Following the signing of a unique partnership with Playmobil and co-producers Morgen Studios and Method Animation, UK licensing agent ITVS GE is readying a dedicated UK consumer products programme for the new Super 4 series.
ITVS GE SVP head of global merchandising Trudi Hayward said: “Super 4 has received a fantastic response. With guaranteed terrestrial broadcast and a leading toy partner already on board for the UK, we are in the midst of building a strong consumer products programme for what promises to be an exciting new children’s TV property. The launch of this new series has been timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary celebrations of the Playmobil brand this year and we’re confident that it will resonate with consumers and retailers alike.”
Leading children’s UK terrestrial broadcaster CiTV will premiere the 52 episodes (11 minutes each) CGI series aimed at 5-9 year olds that follows the adventures of four main characters; Alex the Knight, Ruby the Pirate, Agent Gene and Twinkle the Fairy, as they travel through five different imaginary worlds inspired by the Playmobil universe. CiTV will air 26 episodes in 2014 and a further 26 in 2015.
Playmobil is also on board as master toy licensee and will launch its range of the Super 4 Heroes and playsets at UK retail in Q3 2015. ITVS GE will develop a full UK consumer products programme and is currently seeking licensing partners in key categories including publishing, periphery toys and games, apparel and accessories, gifting, home entertainment, stationery and FMCG.
