Indian VFX studio RedChillies.VFX showcases its work on ‘FAN’ at effects MTL 2016
Posted in: AnimationVFX work in India has been blooming in the Bollywood industry since a decade. Almost all the Bollywood films today depend on VFX studios to take the lead and create what may seem impossible, time consuming and tough on budget in practical terms.
India is known to possess quite a few VFX studios out of which RedChillies.VFX, the studio that has delivered VFX work for various films like Dilwale, Krrish 3, Ra.One and the recent Shah Rukh Khan starrer FAN, has created commendable work.
The glory to India’s VFX achievement was added when RedChillies.VFX recently attended effects MTL in Montreal, Canada, the international conference on the American East Coast for visual effects and animation.
effects MTL is known to be a hub for various business partners, clients, service providers in the VFX industry. It is considered to be a summit of creative and technological gathering that brings together major players and decision makers in the industry. RedChillies.VFX went on to become the first VFX studio from Asia to present a session at the event about their VFX and prosthetics work in the movie FAN.
Bringing alive the spirit of ‘Make In India’ by fuelling innovation, self-reliance and national pride, the team presented a special hour long session on “How Redchillies.VFX created the FAN – Gaurav”, which included everything from the idea stage, to the pre-production, production and post-production expertise.
Redchillies.VFX, chief creative officer, Harry Hingorani said, “effects MTL was a great way to connect with industry peers and get exposed to the amazing work that is taking place globally. It also enabled us to learn some of the newer techniques that are now being used across VFX studios globally and how we could also follow suit and tweak them to suit our needs in the near future.”
“effects MTL 2016 was happy to welcome a delegation of Indian producers for the first time during its Fame Tour – showcasing local Montreal studios to international decision-makers. We would love to welcome Indian studios in our Expo Zone next year to learn more about this huge market. With effects MTL, we wish to support the industrial growth of the VFX and animation industries, in India and worldwide, to consolidate the industry during this one-stop-shop creative and technological gathering”, said effects MTL, event director and program chair, Marine Lelièvre.
Redchillies.VFX, COO, Keitan Yadav added, “Effects MTL gave us the opportunity to share the dais and network with industry veterans; it was heartening to get a positive response that our work quality is at par with international standards. This is certainly an exciting phase in our decade long journey, and we are optimistic that this will open many doors for collaborating on international projects in the near future.”
