Industry veteran Heather Walker has purchased traditional animation studio Yowza! Animation from founder Claude Chiasson. Yowza! Animation is an animation studio based in Toronto which was founded by Claude Chiasson in June 1996.
However after this acquisition, Walker will manage the business and related productions while Chiasson will continue to lead the creative side of team Yowza!
Yozwa! is known for its traditional style of hand drawn animation. Since 1996 it has delivered projects for various clients like DreamWorks, Disney, Warner Bros., Universal Pictures and Nickelodeon.
The animation studios has worked on various franchises like The Little Mermaid, Scooby Doo, Looney Tunes and The Princess and the Frog.
The animation studio has a long standing reputation for having delivered both short film and feature film projects in the animation genre.
Walker has created a new space for the studio in an 8,000 sq. ft. facility. The new owner plans to sustain and build on Yowza’s heritage of classical hand-drawn animation along with its pipeline capacity for ToonBoom, Harmony and 3D projects.
Walker has worked as an executive producer and producer at various animation studios, including Nelvana, and has produced various broadcast projects for ABC, NBC, CBC and BBC.
