HBO | The Rise of TV as Film
Posted in: Animation
Not a single name has had more of an impact on an artistic medium than HBO. When their first programs aired, TV had never quite been cinematic. The medium was a step down from film; it was melodrama to be broadcast to the masses. Fast forward nearly two decades (and 174 HBO programs) to now and TV is telling stories leaps and bounds more imaginative and ambitious than most films today. Enjoy this ride through their growth from a scrappy young network to one that changed the game forever. This is my last work as a tribute editor. I am focusing fully on my narrative filmmaking and achieving success telling my own stories — but I had a hell of a time doing these. Thank you for watching and supporting my work. SONGS USED —
“Infinity Guitars“ by Sleigh Bells (GIRLS) “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey (THE SOPRANOS)
“Fresh Blood” by Eels (THE JINX)
“Heroes” by Scala & Kolacny Brothers (BALLERS)
“I Don’t Care” by Icona Pop (GIRLS) COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMER —
