DreamWorks Animation has appointed Paramount’s Head of Comedy Jennifer Howell as the company’s new Head of Development. Howell will replace Gregg Taylor and will report to Bonnie Arnold and Mireille Soria.
Producing duties for DreamWorks animated musical film Larrikins which has an expected release date in 2018. Taylor oversaw the development of both Trolls and The Boss Baby during his five year tenure and also served as the production executive on How to Train Your Dragon.
With a well grounded animation background, Jennifer Howell brings a treasure of experience to DreamWorks Animation. She previously ran 20th Century Fox Television’s animation department, and served as EVP at Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s film company Important Studios.
She was a supervising producer for the famous animated series South Park and served as a producer for 10 years on that show.
During her nearly two years at Paramount, Howell also set up several comedies such as Soapdish, Grease: Live, First Wives Club, Kid Boss, Bajillion Dollar Brokers and School of Rock.
