Experience a sunrise in one of the world’s most beautiful town squares, Republic Square, in Yerevan, Armenia. See the city wake up as if you’re actually right there. Before the independence of Armenia, this square was called Lenin Square. A statue of the Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin stood in the center from 1940 to when it was removed in 1991, setting the stage for Armenia’s dissolution from the Soviet Union a few months later. Republic Square is now considered Armenia’s most important civic space.
