Book Culture, an independent bookstore in Manhattan, recently ran a series of posters juxtaposing the covers of literary classics by Jules Verne, George Orwell, H.G. Wells and Mary Shelley with images depicting iconic moments in history – that had been in some way imagined by those writers decades earlier. Using the tagline Imagination Got There First, the posters highlight how the limitlessness of the writer’s imagination can sometimes predict the future.
