While Microsoft’s press event at E3 focused more on hardware and their upcoming edition of Xbox, Sony had already revealed their upgraded edition of PlayStation 4, nicknamed ‘PS4 Neo’, and informed that there would be no further information about it at E3. Instead, Sony, at its press event focused more on upcoming games. With gameplays and cinematic trailers all around, here are some of the best releases from the event.
God of War! Yes, a new version of the game is coming and Sony’s event featured a huge chunk of the gameplay and it looks quite good. It follows Kratos as he trains his son on how to hunt while facing a bunch of horrendous monsters. Let’s see what the game has in store for us.
The Last Guardian has finally got a release date after being delayed for so long. The game looks like a perfect fit as a concluding version to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. The trailer features Trico, the giant cat-bird creature and is filled with pretty mesmerising scenes. It is slated to release on 25 October, this year.
Previously Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare had not managed to woo its audience with its reveal trailer. At Sony’s event a gameplay mission was featured and it looked good, if not great. It showed a battle in space, with space suit laden soldiers on a mission to destroy an enemy ship. The gameplay looks quite good as of now. You will have to wait till 4 November to venture into the space odyssey.
Death Stranding was a game whose trailer left us with many questions. Created by the famed ex- Konami stalwart Hideo Kojima, the trailer shows a character played by Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead fame, crawling naked on a beach with a new born by his side as lifeless marine creatures are stacked up on the beach, with strange hand prints circling around. We are not so sure about the game’s details but it will be Hideo’s first game since his departure from Konami, so it’s definitely something to look forward to.
Resident Evil 7 will likely take a step ahead in giving you the thrills. Creepy ambience, crawlers all around and horrifying scenes comprise the trailer. The best part? It’s coming over to PlayStation VR and that means eeriness multiplied. The game launches on 24 January next year.
Spider-Man, yes, Sony has acquired rights from Marvel to make a new Spider-Man game. Although it shows very less in the trailer, it definitely has some amazing animations and is being made by Insomniac Games. We’re excited to see what Sony and Spidey has in store for us.
