Analogue Loaders

About the idea

This short film is Raphael Vangelis animated autobiography. He spends most of my life swearing at the computer because it’s crashed or isn’t working. Here, well known digital symbols are turned into something analogue and playful. The result is homage to all the lost time we collectively spend in digital limbo in the hopes of sudden development on our screen.

Statistics show that on average humans spend 4 years of their lives with waiting.
To Raphael it feels like a lot more.

This film is an abstraction and playful conversion of all the time I spend waiting in my most used applications. The plan was to take something very digital, boring and transport it into the analogue world. Exuberant, yet sophisticated and meticulous, human, handcrafted.
