After 160 hours and over 20.000 photos this is the best result we could get out of this VHS tape, it didn’t dissolve completely cause it had some kind of skeleton made out of plastic which is almost immune to acetone.

OLM and Shotgun in spotlight as Autodesk India host networking event

Autodesk India organised an exclusive business networking and information sharing event on Tuesday with OLM Inc. and Shotgun in Mumbai recently.

The event commenced with the UK-based Shotgun technical specialist Andrew Lawrence sharing valuable insights into the Shotgun software and the benefits that it brings to its users.

It included production tracking, review and asset management toolset for animation and VFX. Lawrence also shed light on some of the latest feature inclusions into the software and how it can be availed by users for a certain trial period.

“One can easily access the tools and integrations by simply subscribing for a month’s trial. There you get complete access to all our sites” he said.

OLM inc. is  Japanese animation and film studio well-known for Pokemon anime TV series and movie. It has recently tapped into live action TV drama and feature-length film, working on VFX and CG. Presenting the same at the event was OLM Inc head of R-and-D Tatsuo Yotsukura, who explained the work done for the animated film Rudolf and Black Cat with 3D animation and rendering softwares, Maya and Arnold 4. The talk also focused on Shader and plugin development as well as cloud rendering and their advantages.

Yotsukura then showcased a clip entailing some of the Japanese anime shows done by OLM, including Pokemon, Beyblade, Atom: The Beginning, Pikaia, the all-girls band Bang Dream, Cyborg 009, Kong: King of the Apes, Tomica: Hyper Rescue and many more.

On the significance and the importance of such events, iRealities managing director Prasad Ajgaonkar shared his thoughts on saying, “It was a good event. Such engagements are very important. We are already in talks with Shotgun for an investment, as it has been very efficient for us.”

The Jim Henson company signs global and pan-regional deals for ‘Splash and Bubbles’

The Jim Henson Company (Dinosaur Train, Sid The Science Kid, Doozers), an established leader in family entertainment for over 60 years, has signed multiple new distribution deals for its underwater CGI-animated adventure series, Splash and Bubbles, co-produced with Herschend Studios, and currently airing in the US on PBS Kids.

MBC GROUP, through its kids edutainment channel MBC3, has secured basic cable and satellite rights to Splash and Bubbles in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, as well as worldwide Arabic language rights; Netflix has acquired global streaming rights; Fox Latin American Channel LLP has secured rights for Nat Geo Kids; and POD Worldwide has acquired free TV rights for Thailand.  Canadian public broadcasters TVO (Ontario) and Knowledge Network (British Columbia) acquired the broadcast rights to the series earlier this year.

“The Jim Henson Company name is synonymous with quality entertainment, and Splash and Bubbles continues that legacy, meeting the needs of traditional and digital media partners around the world,” commented The Jim Henson Company management consultant Ian Lambur.  “Our new clients will introduce Splash and Bubbles and their humorous adventures to kids everywhere, inviting them to explore the teeming life within our ocean, and encouraging them to care for this essential part of the earth we all share.”

Created by John Tartaglia (Imaginocean, Johnny and the Sprites), Splash and Bubbles (80 x 11’) premiered in fall 2016 on PBS Kids, and encourages kids ages four to seven to explore the diversity and spectacle of our natural undersea world.

Developed with an advisory panel of top marine biologists, digital media innovators and preschool educators, Splash and Bubbles is produced using the Emmy Award-winning Henson Digital Puppetry Studio, a proprietary technology from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop that allows puppeteers to perform digitally-animated characters in real-time, enabling the animation to be more lifelike and spontaneous.

The Jim Henson Company oversees all distribution and merchandising for the property; Herschend Enterprises administers all location-based themed entertainment rights, including live-shows. The series is funded in part by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and by the National Science Foundation.

The India-only Archie comics coming to Comic Con this year

Archie and the gang from Riverdale are officially coming to India this year in the Comic Con India shows 2017 for Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Comic Con India in collaboration with Archie Publications has commissioned special #1 editions of popular Archie titles with exclusive India-only covers. Each pass holder to Comic Con India shows this year will receive the exclusive edition comic with a customised city cover.

Comic Con India founder Jatin Varma said, “One of the first comics I ever read was an Archie and millions of comic book fans in India have a similar story to share. Archie comics are considered as Indian as some of our local comics. Therefore, I’m extremely excited to collaborate with Archie Publications to start of this unique collaboration!”

From visiting the Charminar in Hyderabad to shooting a Bollywood film at the Gateway of India in Mumbai or playing cricket at the iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, to touring Delhi, the gang from Riverdale will be everywhere.

Choosing a CEO is serious stuff. It takes skill, responsibility and a lot of knowledge. The Diesel CEO’s chair is empty at the moment. Alessandro Bogliolo served as CEO for the Italian fashion brand from 2013 until July 2017 when he left to work with Tiffany. Until the official successor takes on the role, the company is searching for someone to temporarily occupy it: a Chair Executive Officer. With such a short amount of time available, there’s only one skill that anyone interested in the role must possess: to be ridiculously good at sitting in a chair. That’s why Renzo Rosso, Diesel’s founder, is asking people to showcase their best sitting technique on the brand’s Facebook page. Starting from 5th October, people will be able to showcase their sitting skills for 4 days by commenting with photos or videos on the post that launches the initiative. The new Chair Executive Officer will then fly to Italy, straight to Diesel headquarters, where he or she will become a brand ambassador, sitting on the brand’s most important chair for an entire week: the Diesel CEO Chair.
