Robert Downey hints at MCU exit as he talks of ‘hanging up the jersey’

Hollywood starlet Robert Downey Jr. laid down the gauntlet for the rest of the Avengers when he kick-started Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008 with Iron Man.

The movie was a massive success and became the foundation for the forthcoming MCU movies. But as they say all good things come to an end, Robert Downey’s reign as the metal crusader too is nearing an end as he has hinted at quitting the Marvel franchise.

The 52-year old has appeared in seven of their movies so far, including the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming, but feels he must hang up his boots before its gets “embarrassing”.

He says, “I just never want to blow it for the last six-seven (MCU movies) I have done by dropping the ball because I decided to go do it one more time. I just want to hang up my jersey before it gets embarrassing.”

With the two part Avengers: Infinity War still in the pipeline, Downey’s future beyond those movies hangs by the balance. So while we can still see him donning his armour a couple of more times, his days look numbered.

However, he aims to bow out on a high and also ensure MCU’s continued success even without him. “It’s like with a team if you are going to hang up your jersey, you want to make sure the team is in good shape and can still compete at a high level,” he adds.

Downey has had an instrumental role in taking the Marvel franchise to the heights it has scaled today and his departure will no doubt leave a gaping hole in MCU that will be too huge to fill.

‘Gattu Battu’ music video garners 2.7 million views in just three weeks of its release

Earlier this year, Nickelodeon launched their original animated series Gattu Battu. Whilst the show has generated respectable viewership, a dance music video featuring the duo was released last month and the records thus far suggest it’s a massive hit.

Just over three weeks on from its release, and the video has already accrued 2.7 million views on YouTube, sending Nickelodeon into delirium.

A mocap initiative by the channel, the positive response to Gattu Battu show’s title track apparently inspired the makers to come up with a dance music video to engage their young audience in some foot-tapping. The success of Motu Patlu King of Kings dance number only served to bolster their ambitions further.

Regardless, Gattu Battu’s version of the same appears to have surpassed it all.

“We at Nickelodeon celebrate kids and the relationships that are dear to them,” said Viacom18 kids entertainment head Nina Jaipuria. “Parents play a pivotal role in inspiring and shaping the life and future of their children. With the father’s day campaign our endeavour was to celebrate their relentless effort and inspire kids to create special moments for their parents and an everlasting bond.”

The Gattu Battu dance-video was choreographed by Himanshu, who also has the Motu Patlu dance moves to his credit, whereas the music was composed by Simaab Sen and with the legendary writer Gulzaar penning the lyrics.

Vauxhall Pyjama Mamas

Vauxhall is running Vauxhall Pyjama Mamas, an advertising campaign promoting the Crossland X SUV. The campaign features Vauxhall-driving mums who defy the glares of their peers to wear their stylish pyjamas all day. They’re seen at the supermarket, in the cafe, and picking up their children from school. Features showcased include the 180˚ rear-view camera, “Cause mamas need eyes in the back of their heads” and versatile room for everyone, except pyjama haters. The Vauxhall Pyjama Mamas advert, directed by music video director Jake Nava, is supplemented by digital, PR, social, CRM, press and out of home elements, including photography by Rankin. A content partnership with Channel 4 consists of short videos featuring humorous conversations between actresses Jessica Hynes and Sally Phillips about being a mum.

Vauxhall Pyjama Mamas

Simon Oldfield, Marketing Director for Vauxhall Motors said, “Pyjama Mamas is a punchy and upbeat campaign for our newcomer, the Vauxhall Crossland X. Our brief was to bring something very different to our burgeoning SUV offering, which is due to grow still further in 2017 with the launch of the larger Grandland X later in the year. Our optimistic take on life as well as the, ‘Isn’t life brilliant’ brand positioning have been incorporated throughout the campaign.”

Katie Mackay, Head of Strategy at Mother added, “In a sea of SUV sameness, it’s been a joy to give the Crossland X a platform that befits the swagger and style of the car and its future drivers, while giving Vauxhall a contemporary voice in British culture.”

Pajamas All Day Lyrics

I’m a hot mamma jamma
I jam in my pajamas
I put on my pajamas
And then I go bananas
I’m a hot mamma jamma
I jam in my pajamas
I put on my pajamas
And then I go bananas
I’m in…
Pajamas, pajamas, pajamas all day!

Verse 1:
Do I wanna go somewhere?
No way, no school no work got none today
Frosted Flakes and champagne with my OJ
Pajamas all night pajamas all day
Girls wanna hit the club, I don’t care
Bring your pjs to the crib my beds right there
Pajamas in the studio while the beat hits
Waking’ up with Victoria’s Secrets
Cuz all I wanna do is stay home don’t call send a text I won’t answer my phone
My Jammie’s feel fuzzy like a rabbit
Don’t judge me or my junk food habit
Yea! I wanna lay in bed and do nothin’
No plans for the day except to go do nothin’
24 hrs straight lazy and it’s tight
Pajamas all day, pajamas all night

Chorus

Verse 2:
Pajamas all day yup all day
Got fireball in my pumpkin spice latte
Pajami jam I need some models on my runway
I put my slippers on & slide down the hallway
Pajamas all day text the squad ay! Come in dress code or u can go away
I put On My pajamas and go bananas let me see it girls get out ur cameras
Got a girl comin over and I’m hopin that I can get some and not have to watch frozen
Bathtub rubber duckys on a boat and, pajamas back with my drink time to float man/
Yea! I wanna lay in bed and do nothin’
No plans for the day except to go do nothin’
24 hrs straight lazy and it’s tight
Pajamas all day, pajamas all night

Scaredy Cat

Kinda like a cat reacting to a horror movie, but it’s just Marm in the bathroom sink getting scared of my creepy hand! 🙂

I came across this older clip of Marm and had to share, it’s just so fun to watch! Even now, any noise like wiping your hand along a table or something like that instantly gets his attention!

The Digitakt is here, and the Octatrack just got a new MKII update. Which one to choose!? They are overlapping in what they can do, but I think they are different enough to justify that Elektron keeps selling both of them.

So here’s a mega workflow comparison video where I’m comparing them side by side in a number of aspects. It’s a bit long, but if you’re interested in this stuff, I hope you’ll find the video interesting.

Cheers
