Cinesite launches international roadshow in search of animation talent

Delivering great stories to global audiences requires world-class people. In order to complement its expanding team of outstanding local artists, Cinesite is launching an international roadshow, seeking new talent for its Montréal team.

In addition to meeting recruits at festivals and events including Spark Animation in Vancouver, CTN eXpo in Los Angeles and Journée Québec in Paris, Cinesite’s recruitment team will be visiting several major international cities throughout October and November and meeting potential recruits.  The complete details are listed at the foot of this announcement.

Cinesite’s international roadshow follows the recent announcement that former vice president of talent at Illumination Entertainment Dave Rosenbaum has joined the company as chief creative officer. Dave will be focusing his efforts into making Cinesite a premiere movie animation studio in North America and is keen to discover new talent to join the studio in this exciting phase of expansion.

Dave said of joining Cinesite, “What an extraordinary opportunity to bring the best artists and filmmakers in the world to a city as rich in culture as Montreal, to collaborate on the next generation of classic animated movies, and to build together one magnificent studio.”

Cinesite is currently working on several productions, both as an animation service provider and also developing its own property. A slate deal with 3QU Media will see the release of its first collaboration Charming, in Spring 2017; Gnome Alone, also for 3QU, is currently in production.  Cinesite also announced in February 2016 that it is partnering with SPA Studios (Sergio Pablos) and Atresmedia Cine to produce the holiday season film, Klaus. Other exciting productions are also in development.

In addition to recruiting for feature animation, Cinesite will also be meeting people interested in joining its visual effects division. To arrange a meet up with Cinesite’s feature animation and visual effects recruitment team, please register your details using the online form.

Nespresso Change Nothing with George Clooney

Nespresso is running “Change Nothing”, the latest installation in a ten-year campaign featuring actor George Clooney. Debuting on 25th September 2016 at www.nespresso.com/whatelse, the Nespresso Change Nothing campaign sees George embark on a rough night as he looks to protect his precious coffee. Starting in the stylish Nespresso boutique on London’s Regent Street, George’s adventure begins as he strikes up conversation with an attractive female over a cup of Nespresso coffee. Sadly for him, she is the wife of the ‘boss’. And so ensues an eventful evening, courtesy of the ‘boss’, played by ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘Deadwood’ star, Ian McShane, which sees Clooney take a trip through the backstreets of London. The following morning we see a dishevelled George in his home savouring his Nespresso coffee, as he lets the audience know that he ‘wouldn’t change a thing’ about his Nespresso experience.

The fully integrated campaign – created with McCann Worldgroup – kicked off with a teaser phase earlier this month where consumers were invited to guess what fate awaited George Clooney.

Alfonso Gonzalez, Chief Customer Officer for Nespresso, explains: “Our relationship with George strengthens year on year, and in our twelfth collaboration, we have created a storyline that shows Clooney at his best. He is a true partner for the brand, and here we see just how far he is willing to go for that incomparable Nespresso coffee experience”.

Asked about his continuing partnership with Nespresso, Clooney responded on set, “We always look to take the story to the next level and in this latest instalment I think we can say that it is certainly my most eventful outing to date. Bringing a more character driven approach mixed with humour has really taken the campaign to a new level”.

Imago Dei

Special director’s edit commissioned by Foam and Museum van Loon, for the exhibition ‘Second Skin’ in the historic rooms of Museum van Loon. The video showcases an analogue technique by using wallpaper paste and acrylic paint and is entirely made without computer animation. The model was covered with a layer of coloured wallpaper paste unto which different patterns of paint was applied. The patterns slowly shift and become more chaotic. Taking the concept of ‘tribal’ rituals and its costumes and masks, humanity has created to commemorate and honour our deceased. These ‘tribal’ bodies slowly change and their patterns wither over time.  Music by Temo Gonzalez
