Some of the events to look forward to at E3

As the titanic event of Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) approaches closer, the thrill and excitement of the fans are already at an absolute high. People wait throughout the year for some of the most anticipated reveals and releases of the year through this event. The event will take place from 14 to 16 June at the Los Angeles Convention Center  and will be the centre of attraction for the gaming (related) enthusiasts throughout the globe.

Here are some of the many events and releases we would be looking forward to:

Microsoft will be looking forward to make this E3 a landmark for their console. It is being speculated that Microsoft might be unveiling their much rumoured  upgraded Xbox, nicknamed ‘Scorpio’. After Sony has recently confirmed the rumours about their upcoming PS4 Neo, Microsoft would be eager to show off their upgraded console in an attempt to stay in the game. Apart from that, Microsoft will likely shed light on Gears of War 4 and Xbox and PC connectivity and maybe Sea of Thieves?

Xbox One

Ubisoft has already been very open to the audience about what they will be showcasing at their conference at E3. It will consist of Watch Dogs 2, For Honor and Ghost Recon. We will most likely not have the luck to see the next edition of Assassin’s Creed, but we’ll probably get some new glimpses of the Assassin’s Creed movie.

Sony has already confirmed that there will be no PS4 Neo at E3, so more of PlayStation VR will probably be the huge focus, ahead of its October release. Maybe more info about the 2016 confirm release, The Last Gurdian or perhaps No Man’s Sky VR?

PSVR

Nintendo has slashed down every rumour about the unveiling of their upcoming console nicknamed ‘NX’ at E3. Instead, they will be focusing more on the new Legend of Zelda game. There will probably be glimpses of gameplay and maybe more information and footages from their upcoming Pokemon: Sun and Moon.

Legend of Zelda

Electronic Arts have a bunch of possible showscases for this year’s E3. It will be the first time where we might get the first in depth look at Respawn’s Titanfall 2 (after the multiplayer trailer has just been revealed) and moreover Dice’s recently revealed Battlefield 1. Apart from this, maybe more information about two expansions of Star Wars?

These are just a few, there’s so much more to look forward to at this E3, we will keep you updated with all the happenings from the grand event.

‘FIFA 17′ to sport a story mode, a first in the franchise

Finally, the fans of FIFA can rejoice as EA has just dropped a trailer of their upcoming edition of the hugely popular game. Just like many of EA’s games, FIFA 17 will be adhering to the ‘Frostbite’ engine, which means it will bring more realistic action style in the game.

The trailer showcases a story mode for the first time in FIFA. The story follows the fictional character of Alex Hunter who gets his first big break at Manchester United and gets his way into the Premier League. What’s interesting to note is that as it adapts to a story mode, there are not only matches to be played but it takes a player through the complete back story of Alex Hunter including, talking to agents, looking for houses, dressing room scenes prior to a game and much more.

While showing bits and pieces from different editions of FIFA, the words in the trailer reads, “People say football never changes. We see it differently. Football has changed.”

The best part? The game offers you a brand new career mode called ‘The Journey’ where you play as the main protagonist and go through the whole journey while completing quests by playing matches and earning ratings which you can check  out.

Apart from these, you earn trait points, which you can spend on your character to mould him as per your will and there is also a post match scenario where you can answer questions using a conversation wheel.
The game is slated to release on 29 September, this year. Let’s see if it lives up to its hype.

Disney’s ‘Moana’ sails off the shore with its first teaser trailer

‘Discover yourself to discover the world’. The greatest discovery lies in fighting all odds and crossing the limits to go beyond the possibilities in order to achieve your goal. Your identity defines you and your mission in life helps you find that definition.

Disney’s upcoming animated feature Moana is all about discovering yourself and your identity. The first teaser features the South Pacific coast with the demi-god Maui voiced by Dwayne Johnson and the adventurous navigator Moana voiced by Hawaiian teen Auli’i Cravalho.

Sometimes, impressing a girl might turn out to be a task! And, Maui tries a few stunts and moves to impress Moana but to no avail. Despite of his flips, jumps and tricks with his fish hook, Moana reacts with a blank yet confused look.

The teaser displays few strings of the plot like the demi-god possessing the ability to change forms and probably Moana’s childhood into the vast blue ocean. Also, she seems to be a skilled navigator or rather a sea-woman taking charge of the clan.

Animation looks neat and quite realistic as the ocean, island and wild habitat are evidently surreal. The hair of both Maui and Moana grab the attention as it seems to be a great work of simulation. Maui’s face is a replica of Dwayne Johnson and quite predominantly looks like the wrestler turned actor too.

Disney has definitely tried a unique kind of animation for this teaser trailer with the art of drawing and stop motion animation at the start to introduce Maui. Directed by veterans like John Muster and Ron Clements and produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Moana seems to be a profound work of animation and distinct storytelling.

The film portrays a culture and traditional habitat of the South Pacific islands with all the tattoos covering the entire body and typical natural attire. The film seems to be a self discovery for both Moana and Maui in the quest of searching Moana’s family and Maui’s long lost personality. Distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, Moana hits theatres on 23 November, 2016. The below poster for the film was released last week.

Here’s the best of Bethesda’s press conference at E3

The thrill and excitement of E3 is already taking over. In just a day, it will be a reveal here and quote there from the stalwarts of the gaming industry as they come together to showcase their upcoming projects at the Los Angeles Convention Center. More than just reveals, releases and trailers of games, the event plays host to companies who want to market their product well. Bethesda has already given us enough stuff through new trailers to kick off the E3 action this year.

Here are our favourite ones:

Fallout 4 will be empowered with three new pieces of DLC, the third of which called ‘Nuka’ will be the concluding DLC for the game. According to Bethesda, “With Fallout 4 contraptions, use of conveyer belts, scaffolding kits, track kits, even logic gates to construct crazy and complex gadgets to improve your Wasteland settlements. The Contraptions Workshop also includes all-new features like elevators, greenhouse kits, warehouse kits, fireworks, armor racks and more!”

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a re-mastered version (YES!). The special edition will be coming out over Xbox One and Playstation 4 on 28 October, this year. Skyrim has been one of the best selling games at its peak and it would be interesting to see how this edition of the game does. And guess what!

Quake is making a comeback with Quake Champions and looks like a revamped version of Quake to match the current eSports genere. Players will have different looks, abilities and gameplay style. More of it supposed be revealed at QuakeCon.

The Elder Scroll: Legends is an upcoming fantasy card game. Yep another card game, whose beta was already underway and now an in-depth cinematic of the campaign has been launched by the developers at their E3 press event.

Dishonored 2 will definitely make it to the list. The much awaited reveal showed some detailed gameplay action with a lot of hacking, slashing and other moves. Check it out here.

What all did you like?

‘Warcraft’ earns more globally than ‘The Conjuring 2’

This past week witnessed movies of various genres including visual effects and animation like Warcraft, The Conjuring 2 and Now You See Me 2 releasing on 10 June, 2016 in the US. Considering the box office game, Blizzard’s Warcraft seems to have waged a war by rising above its competitors and earning $286.1 million worldwide.

Warcraft received negative reviews and opened with just $24.3 million in the US. However, the film collected $156 million in China as it opened there on 8 June, 2016 thus, before the US release. Along with this, it earned $105 million overseas outside of China and North America amounting to a worldwide total of $286.1 million.

The game turned feature film received such an appealing response in China possibly due to a huge chunk of World of Warcraft gamers present in the nation.

The Conjuring 2 (6)

The horror thrill attracted eyeballs due to its name and past performance but failed to intrigue audiences as compared to its first venture. The Conjuring 2 made its domestic opening with $16.4 on Friday, $14.04 on Saturday and $9.8 million on Sunday to lead to its domestic weekend collection to $40.4 million.

This is one of the biggest opening for a horror film in North America inclusive of almost 24 markets. However, the movie collected $50 million from its foreign market leading to a worldwide weekend collection of $90.35 million till date.

The Conjuring 2 has been made with a budget of $40 million while, Warcraft has been curated against a budget of $160 million. Both the movies have till date earned more globally than what has been invested in their creation. Still, both the movies have a scope for increasing their collection due to its distinct genres and large target audience.

Another visually appealing movie Now You See Me 2 which opened in the US earned $23.02 million domestically and $22.8 million from the foreign market leading to its worldwide weekend collection of $45.8 million. The movie has not released in India yet.

There Is No Light Lyrics

Music and lyrics are by husband and wife duo Mariam Wallentin and Andreas Werliin.

There is no light
There is no light
My eyelids ache from too much darkness
No light save me
The night crave me
Dusty patches to look out for
Cause if we fall we will never rise again

What do we find
In these hell holes
No one loves me when I’m dark full
Dark full, painful
Still I’m empty like a rat
Lying flat in a ditch beside a road

If we fall we will never rise
If we fall we’re gonna rise
If we fall we will never rise
If we fall we’re gonna rise
Again

The Autoeromatons

Machines. They’re a bit of a studio fetish. It all started a couple of years ago when we built two chain-reactions called Melvin. After years of designing and building elaborate contraptions for clients like Lee Gardens Hong Kong, Vice, Grolsch and Intel, we felt the urge to try our hand at building automatons — a declaration of our passion for all things intricate and mechanical. When we started working on this project we had just two requirements: the automata we were about to produce had to perform a sensual (or erotic, if you will) act when being handled – in a safe for work way. They also needed to be simple, beautiful objects when in rest, made from high quality materials. Sexy alternatives to all those Executive Ball Clickers. At HeyHeydeHaas we hold craftmanship in high regard, so the majority of the work on the Autoeromatons is done in house and by hand. From figuring out the mechanics of the automata and casting bronze at a local foundry, to polishing till you drop. That being said, we couldn’t have completed the project without some of our friends and local craftsmen who helped us out with finetuning the inner mechanisms, wood and metal turning and marble cutting.
