A week in the life of a Tokyo salary man

January to the end of March is our ‘busy season’ at work, which means that for these 3 months, my life is basically like this…

There are definitely people in Tokyo who do this all year round in order to support their families. I couldn’t imagine having to do this if I had those kinds of responsibilities as well.

Big salutes to all you hard workers out there, winning bread for your loved ones!

Remember, always stay positive! Challenges in life only make you stronger, and right now I’m levelling up on the daily!

Costa Sunglasses // Kick Plastic

We had the amazing chance to work with Costa again on this piece to spearhead their #Kickplastic campaign. Costa makes the clearest sunglasses on the planet for the sport fishing industry. Because healthy fish rely on healthy oceans, Costa is working hard to raise awareness about our overuse, and poor disposal, of plastics. The challenge was to communicate an environmentalist message to a right-leaning audience. We landed on a treatment absent of any emotionally manipulative voice over, and used a series of facts on screen to communicate the story. Archetypes of Italian female stardom: Magnani, Lollobrigida, Loren

This video-essay considers performances from three key Italian actresses in the post-war period and the way that they embodied the figure of the ‘popolana’. Comparisons are drawn between the three actresses by looking at the ‘popolana’ in relation to the carceral space. This video essay was developed as part of the conference paper ‘Behind bars in post-war Italian cinema: the popolana and performance in female prison’.
